Please suggest anyone..
I would advise you to buy a manual BP monitor (sphygmomanometer) instead of electronic one.
The manual one is far, far accurate compared to the electronic one.
You should be able to buy Sphygmomanometer plus stethoscope (which would also be needed to measure B.P) in less than 1500/- bucks.
Thnks a lot for ur advise…
Can u give any type of link??
One thing… am not a doctor so i dont know the procedure to take the measure of bp by Sphygmomanometer plus stethoscope…
The procedure is not at all difficult. You just need 10-15 minutes to learn it.
During my medical college days, I checked the internet when I wanted to buy it for myself but the price was higher, so bought locally. Nevertheless, will check prices on the internet and let you know.
It will be a great help for me if u give anytype of link… if i have to buy it from our local store please give advise which will be better…
And also if u tell me how to take the measurement of bp then it will be awesome…. am not a doctor like u so m saying….
waiting for ur reply….
Thnx in Adv..
Electronic BP Monitor claims to be correct upto +/-3% and are easy to operate. Just press the button and get result. I’m using Omrom 7111 for my mom from a year or so and working perfectly. The manual ones indeed are long lasting but donno if it’s easy to learn taking the reading. Cuff style digital is most popular and even docs have started using for ease and quickness. Stethoscope types are getting obselete as technology is progressing. The old ones starts from 500 upto 2500 on ebay and new digital ones start at 1000 upto 2500 however a 1200 rs omron 7111 is best out there and is sold the most.

How is about Omron HEM 7203 Upper Arm Bp Monitor @flipkart??
- Not sure you want to spend >=1.5k for sure or cheaper would do
- Manual measurement using mercury Bp monitor and stethoscope is not difficult, as stated before by another member(you would need some learning though 20-30 times of reading and some reading about all the working and do and don’ts are enough to record correct BP) . In total, ok to good stetho + ok to good mercury monitor equipment will cost you some 2k (even cheaper)
- In electronic BP monitors, Omron BP Monitor HEM-7111 (MRP 2580) & HEM-7203 (MRP 3250) are good options (Citizen has some good cheap models too)
- I have one HEM-711 i bought for some 950 bucks (there was a good offer on craptara; for gifting someone) It works good.
- Further there is Omron Professional series..which cost above 16-18k !
Which one will be better manual/electronic??

If you are ready to learn (online as well as offline) about how to record BP (do’s & don’ts; YES there are some important ones) and ask/goto some medical pro (or a better option is a local chemist) for physical demonstration (1-2 times would be enough along with other info).. go for manual way (you still are using 2 machines-mercury monitor+stethoscope)
Else if don’t care much about “PIN-DOT” accuracy, go for electronic (remember you need to follow its instructions carefully to be accurate)
I mean you cant tie the cuff to elbow and say “this sucks”

Its not at all possible to guide someone here on how to take B.P. properly. For that you should ask some doctor/nurse to teach you in person or search for tutorials on youtube.
Among manual ones, I’d say Diamond is cheap and best… would cost you 1000-1300.
Among electronic ones, the others here will guide you better than me.
Thnx…
Its a great help for me …
Thnx a lot… i wl not go for manual as well…
Thnx @cm4444 ….
Let it be done by tomorrow….. manual is better i think….

thnx
