Instead of buying TVs with smart features, just buy a dumb LED TV with HDMI ports and connect Android TV Box to get all the smart TV functions. No point spending extra money for built in Smart TV function since all of them are terrible. Better to add all the Smart TV functions through Android TV boxes

Just my opinion

PS – This Model is the best TV you can buy below 40k. It’s just brilliant

Using Smart TV functions through Android TV Boxes is more easy than using the built in Smart TV functions. You just need to connect the TV Box to the TV through HDMI and that’s it. You will have access to all the good things in Android.

May I know what exactly you want to use the WiFi in your TV for?

VU is very reliable.
I have 2 VU leds.
1 40 inch and 1 24 inch.
Picture quality is exceptional and on par with leading brands. Make sure to use a HD DTH box if buying a full hd tv cos normal box will make you hate your TV. And its not VU but the problem is with all full hd tvs the SD contents are not that great. Same issue with my Philips 40 incher.

I will suggest either VU or LG along with what dragon master suggested.
Cost savings plus effective.

And next time onward please post in correct forum.

Smart TVs are actually dumb TVs made even dumb by adding haphazard non-functional features.

As other diners have been suggesting, even I would recommend you to go with a LED TV without the smart TV functionality and add on a Chromecast, Apple TV etc.

For me, our home is filled with Apple devices so getting an Apple TV and a normal LED TV made more sense.

On the flip side, you will be needing min 2 or 3 HDMI ports to accommodate the extra devices. Also a good WIFi router and a high speed internet connection to really enjoy the smart features irrespective of smart TV or add on box.

I was really impressed by VU TVs but finally settled down with a Samsung 32" as I got a good deal.

Sorry for the delay in responding Sir..

I wish to use internet purpose only. We live at remote village in Kerala. Unfortunately we don’t have cable connection, but fortunately have BSNL broadband. And my aged mother fond of serials.. https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_smile.gif

In 512 kbps speed i think you can watch 360 pixel video Quality without buffer.. Which is not sufficient for 32’’ Tv Virewing https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_wink.gif

Yes, for media consumption (watching movies, youtube, streaming music etc) Android TV Boxes will work well. Even you can play casual games.

Just make ssure, the TV you buy will have ATLEAST 2 HDMI ports. More than 2 will be great, but 2 should be the minimum

I would suggest you to buy this tv: Philips 32PFL3738 81 cm (32) LED TV

http://www.flipkart.com/philips-32pfl3738-81-cm…

I also purchased it from Flipkart under exchange offer for 16k. I than purchased this Teewe HDMI dongle worth 2000rs.

http://tee…n/

Now, I can watch youtube videos and can stream local content of movies, music to my tv too. I am not sure if 512kbps connection is enough for youtube, I have 1mbps connection and I can easily watch youtube videos nonhd without any buffer.

Total cost of the setup to me was 16k for the TV and 2k for the WIFI hdmi streaming dongle=18k.

Philips is also offering 3 years warranty on the led tvs.

Only drawback: The TV has 1 HDMI port. To overcome this, I am using extension hdmi cable which came with the teewe dongle and I can easily change the connections now.
