Now Citi Premier Miles is the best credit card for rewards by far for frequent travelers! 1.8% benefit on all purchases (no limits); 4.5% benefit on flight bookings and accelerated mile merchants like Flipkart.

But it’s shocking that the Citi PM lounge list for the MasterCard variant was recently reduced to only 4 in India. How the heck could they even remove the International Departures lounge at T3, Delhi?! http://www.premiermiles.co.in/premiermiles_priv... CC @A2Zdeals @cybertechie @disclaimer @BUTTERFLYBOY

How much will I have to pay as annual charges if I upgrade to this card? Any possibilities of waiver of those charges?

Annual charge: 3000+tax. No waiver in India for this card. I spend in double digits (lacs) every year but no such option was offered to me. With that said, you do get 3000 miles on every renewal (=Rs.1350) and 10K miles as a signup bonus (=Rs.4500!) when you spend 1K within the first 60 days.

By the way, I got grandfathered-in from my Jet Airways Platinum card (discontinued now) so I pay only 1000+tax. https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_wink.gif CC @gotrajk @cybertechie

My spending is also going up day by day. Within past 12 months I also spent around 7 lacs or more. And out of that around more than 2lacs is just for travel. https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_sad.gif

I only use credit card to get rewards as well to track the spending.

I did try that. Well, in a different way. I told them that I would start using one of my other cards as my primary go-to card. The issue was escalated to a manager who got back to me after a day. But they didn’t budge citing some India-specific policy as the reason.

That is not how cancellation threat works. You got to put in a cancellation request. Some guy from retention team will call you and offer you whatever he can. Customer service has limited authority on certain domains such as cancellation charges waiver etc.

Ah, makes sense. However, I absolutely despise the concept of credit card cancellations for the reasons mentioned in the following post so I would perhaps never do it, especially if the credit card happens to be one of my earliest ones. https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_wink.gif http://www.desidime.com/forums/dost-and-dimes/t...

Only the primary cardholder is allowed entry free-of-cost, i.e. don’t get any ideas about getting add-on cards for your family members. https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_toungueout.gif

You will have to pay the lounge charges (varies) for anybody traveling with you if they don’t have a personal credit/debit card with a lounge access program.

ICICI Sapphiro/Rubyx are some of the exceptions.

As per RM update, if I get add-on card for my Regalia card then separate priority pass will be issued to them too. Also Regalia is again going to be chargeable as per his info. Promotion period is over.

We were talking only about @gotrajk ’s Citi Premier Miles card in that post.

But thanks for adding more options.

Edit: Even if you get an add-on Reglia card for your family members and a priority pass membership, they won’t get a separate quota of visits. They will share your quota of 12 free visits per year. @A2Zdeals

10k is a very big amount bro. I thought around 1500 charges will be levied per year.

I think they waive off the annual charges if you spend 5 lacs or more.

Update at 3:54pm: Just confirmed, they do waive off the annual charges. See the below conditions:

“Spend Rs. 5L in 12 Months and get Renewal Fee waived for next renewal year.
Spend Rs. 100000 within first 90 days from card set up date and get waiver of 1st year membership fee.”

Waiver is there but it is offered to my senior colleague at 8 LACS just last week
First year is free
He had good amount of FDs in his father’s name with hdfc bank
