First of all, I would to say, that I am feeling very Thankfull as well as Greatful to whole Desidime Community and my fellow Dimers for their fantastic support to my previous thread related to Freelancing – Work From Home : http://www.desidime.com/forums/dost-and-dimes/t...

I am a member of DD since 2011 and was never that active like i’m now. I saved (and still saving) a lot since my friendship started with DD and now thinking of returning favors.

After my Previous Thread on Freelancing, I felt amazed when some of the dimers approached me to help them in their Learning Journey.
But I have also felt that a lot of Dimers still dont know from Where to Start and may be the big reason is : Lack of Skill-Sets.

Keeping these things in mind and To keep continuing my contributions to DD Community, I am going to start with
Web Development & Designing Guide for Beginners.

This guide will cover all the aspects of Web Development and Designing like CSS, Bootstrap,HTML, HTML5, Java-Script,jQuery, PHP and other Technologies.

I will provide Step-By-Step Tutorials, including Title and Pre-requisites, make sure you Dont Skip.
It’s consistency that makes you a Winner.

P.S. Suggestions are heartily welcome from Senior Dimers.

P.P.S. I would like to Invite other Web Developers/Designers here in DD, to share their knowledge with others. Thanks so much!

NOTE : Ask here for any doubt, It will be helpful for others. I will reply to each query.

I will start with HTML5, You will easily get all the basics of HTML as we proceed. HTML5 is The Best, Most Modern Flavor of HTML to use. it Stands for Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML).

HTML 5 : Chapter 1 : Your First Web Page

Getting Started :

Requirements : All You need is a simple Text Editor like NotePad

1: Type this in Notepad: “I Love DesiDime”
2: Save the file – Save As – > desidime.html (.html is the extension for HTML Files)
3: Now go to the location where u saved your file and open it with any of your browser.

There it is. Your First Web Page. How exciting. And all it took was a few typed words.

P.S. Suggestions are welcome to improve my posts. Thank You!

You guys can try this Online Editor – provided my W3Schools : http://www.w3schools.com/html/tryit.asp?filenam...

I would like to recommend Notepad for beginners. As using dedicated software programs like Adobe Dreamweaver might not be helpful for now, at this early stage.

Dont worry, As we proceed, I will make sure to give an idea of these tools as well.

A suggestion from my side..
For guys who don’t know anything about Web development and are interested about it… They can go with www.w3schoo...om
(tutorials with live practice) And U can get the basic and intermediate knowledge about various things(Html,Css, Java script, Xml, sql, php and many more) involved in Web design or Development

@varsha thanooj @runjesh I Really appreciate your contributions.

Dont you guys think it would be more better if we can help other Dimers not just by providing URLs?

I will be very grateful if you guys have understood my intention to Provide Effortless Learning to Dimers.

Thank You !

Why spoonfeed when their are better and free ways for them to learn,if they have any doubt they can ask here.Instead what you can do is start a weekly competition of logo designing, web page designing based on theme and admins can keep a prize of dimes,Many will participate and learn in this way.

Well what I can suggest is.

If a person is serious enough to build his carrier as web dev.

Try website
Frontendmasters
Khan academy,
LinkedIn Learning (aka lynda)
Treehouse
Tutsplus etc…

To name a few

If they get stuck then search there error in google , stackoverflow.

2 cents from my side
There are many resources available where user can start from scratch
What if we start with something like how to deploy app to an actual server, setting up app server, good options available for devs for testing their app on a testing bed, etc.
I think this is what a newbie will be struggling with..
Any input is welcome

Well, but one can’t get knowledge by just seeing the posts here… Even if it is so they will at primitive levels after many days

Well designed better resources are available… So one can use this thread for suggestions and queries which arise while they learn

My questions would be:
1. What web framework is DesiDime using?
2. Are they using third party web servers (and which?) or have their own ?
3. What kind of web services are used by DD to provide content to Android app?? Is it JSON or XML or what
4. And most importantly which Adserver is DD running? Do they have their own Adserver or are using someone else’s like Google
