even now am getting as
“We’re sorry. This item can’t be shipped to your selected destination. You may either change the shipping address or delete the item from your order.”

Analyst Analyst

no it wasn’t. products come and go from list but amazon global is working without issue or gap. I regularly check few items I’ve in cart as prices fluctuate too often and keep checking final order value for these items. never faced any issue. https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_smile.gif

Also look at this:

“Import Fees Deposit” represents an estimate of the Import Fees that will be levied on the items in your order for shipment to countries outside of the U.S. By placing your order, you agree to allow Amazon Export and/or Merchant (as applicable) to collect the Import Fees Deposit for the applicable items in your order. This deposit will be used, on your behalf, to reimburse the Designated Carriers for the import fees that they have paid on your behalf to the appropriate authorities of the destination country.

You further agree that the Designated Carriers may disclose to Amazon Export or Merchant (as applicable) the amount of actual Import Fees levied on the item you have purchased from Amazon Export and/or Merchant (“Actual Import Fees”). In the event that the Import Fees Deposit exceeds the Actual Import Fees, Amazon Export or Merchant (as applicable) will refund the difference to you.

If the item manages to get away with custom duty. You can get the deposit back https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_smile.gif

Item will never be duty free – Because Amazon has partnership with Aramex in India https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_evil.gif
And with new government, Custom duties have increased unofficially.

I ordered a 14 USD item and my import deposit was 6.5 USD. I kept telling amazon reps that this item is exempt from duty and they shouldn’t collect import deposits on items worth less than 30 USD.
Anyway, when i received the item – the duty that amazon paid through aramex was about 457 Rs.

Aramex and Amazon are doing a white collar crime, i don’t know who is to blame from amongst the two.

And, Import Deposit collected by Amazon.co.uk on mobiles is 40% of the mobile value

nahhh.. i mean ohh¿ https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_rolleyes.gif i thought its Fedex and in few cases USPS (their counter party is India post usually or DHL in very rare cases)

Hughvorine bhai http://www.amazon.com/globalsavershipping was always available; in-fact most of those silly prices of Samsung TVs and such high priced products (in absolute terms); one should always cross check with global prices; like at Tiger Direct, http://bhphotovid...om or with Amazon etcetera

if you are talking above AmazonGlobal ’Super’Saver then NO. they removed:cry: India from the list earlier this year. http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display....

you can still order stuff ‘sold’ by Amazon for shipping to you in India from here→ http://www.amazon.com/International-Shipping-Di...

Import Fee Deposit is only added to your order by Amazon U.S. ; but in reality as micke points; its handled exclusively by logistics guys and even if its Fedex.. why will they bother to fib to the customs for anyone.

i have made umpteen calls to Amazon TLDs telephonic support: but they are 101% sure that they can not provide any proof of payment or local body receipt and that has to be dealt with the Logistics firm directly; even if its sceptical customers like me

also; if paying in INR (from a local currency denominated VISA or MC) their SWIFT charges and bank charges currently make the conversion at over 63INR to a USD

agree with micke that there is some nexus between aramex and amazon or amazon is too stupid to check what’s going on.

I have ordered 4-5 times using Amazon global. every time I didn’t get bill of entry, I made complaints on aramex Facebook page, wrote dozens of emails to almost every big official in india and in UAE, called them, abused them. they are shameless. on the other hand Amazon gives back custom duty paid if I make it big issue but for that i had to fight with them too. duty refunded is as promotional balance that can’t be used to buy anything other than Amazon’s.

anyways, after big fighting and continuous emails, chats with them amazon has changed preferred shipper for me. haven’t order after that but it really sucks to get item from aramex. always slow and late and never providing documents.

and just to tell how serious crime it is being done, not providing bill of entry knowingly, if your item comes by fedex for example just go to online chat, give them your shipping consignment number, within 2 minutes you’ll get copy of bill of entry in your email. with aramex, you get thullu.

Aramex is simply horrible !! Painfully slow and no documents as said by you . I got a Xbox console shipped from US and still no bill of entry given . Wasted so much time after it finally gave up .Such shameless fellows !

Thanks. I didn’t know this. I wish to order a phone from Amazon Uk and i expect a refund. I am going to chat regarding this now.

I wanted to bring attention to this Amazon-Aramex thing. If Amazon is not aware and we bring this to their attention, then we will benefit from this.
I know somebody who runs a very prominent blog and he speculates regarding Amazon a lot. I will ask him if something can be done regarding this.

They use Aramex exclusively for North India as far as i know. I read online that few buyers got their Shipment via DHL, no such luck here.

your case will be different and you’ll get cash back to original source of payment. mine was keep this and fuk off, enough of rants, we can’t do anything so live with it. https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_toungueout.gif

@marketdimer: it may still be a case of an odd agent handling your communication [chat or phone]
but thumbs up to you for bringing it to our notice.
and @micke; yes please do check if Amazon responds differently to your issues and bring us feedback from the social media initiatives (your acquaintance blog)

as for my fedex/ India Post assumption: yes i got carried away because often my shipments from Canadian buys or NorthAm purchases came thus

even if i have to pay for the out-call i prefer talking to human support and asking seemingly silly or minutest queries too BEFORE buying; instead of reaching chat support guys in India/ Philippines who gave limited canned responses

there is a way to connect to Amazon US teams on phone without paying though. those who do not do it already can ping me if want to know.

@dvd, I used minimal to no chat support with Amazon. I rely on emails, those boring long emails that will, if not provide solution, give at least some compensation. https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_toungueout.gif

doing chat for such things won’t fetch any results as support guy will keep repeating (read copy pasting) same thing again and again. asking by email on why aren’t you, a sender, who promise to refund custom duty if paid less on checking at arrival, can’t provide a bill of entry when there are just 2 people involved in this chain, a sender and shipping agency. they don’t have answer to this question actually, obviously because they are sitting in india or some third world country and details goes to amazon usa which they don’t have access to. if you ask them once they will send a copy paste reply, if you ask them twice they will send reply from some senior assuring they will fix this issue and will contact with aramex. when you ask third time they will say, dude enough keep this and buzz off. you can try yourself. works for me every time. https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_wink.gif

thanks for this update market bhai

yes i know they are already invested heavily for the Hyd centre of Indian Ops; and same personnel are given some additional training and most TLD (dot com) chats routed to Off-shore centres like India.

And; as for logistics proof of local lveys; i always call up the Amazon NorthAm support on phone (they are in Caribbean i think; or thats what they say)
those people are usually nice if they realise the caller; that to non-American: is a naïve person.

plain as day; they always tell that these things (proof of customs paid/ local levy) will exclusively be available only with the Logistics teams (second link in your (marketdimers) chain)

and I always wonder how or when can one get this clarity: ’cause if I have paid only then it will be handed to the logistics team and then I am only at mercy of the Indian counter-part.
