Any way to remotely control a Lyf Flame phone?

Hi Broheims,

I need some help from Android enthusiasts/tinkerers. I need to be able to remotely control Lyf Flame 1 and Lyf Flame 8 devices over the internet; not via USB or through a directly connected PC. These devices run Android 5.1.1 OOTB and I have not been able to succeed with my usual tools — Teamviewer QuickSupport/Host and Mobizen.

I am able to see the screens remotely just fine, but I am not able to control the phones remotely. This has something to do with Android 5.1.1 limitations/restrictions. Interestingly, Mobizen does allow me to bring the phones out of the standby remotely just fine. But nothing else works, be it the hardware buttons or something as basic as simple taps on the screen.

Please know that I have already invested a couple of hours to get this working, but have only faced failure so far. So I will be grateful to anybody who can suggest a working solution.

CC @getready @PaytmKaPoojari @happy2prog @Dr Anshuman @thementalist @myliferockkss @goss8877

P.S. If you are not aware of a solution personally, please do tag other users who might be able to help.

P.P.S. Any working solution to root Flame 1 and/or Flame 8? KingRoot does not work.

Well I’m able to access my LG phone (not rooted) having Android 5.1.1 just fine using Mobizen Mirroring software, but the phone is connected to USB on remote PC. I also have Button Savior installed, if that’s of any help. When connected to USB, u will have some control with ADB also.

Make sure u have some juice in phone…. when the phone is off…
connect the charging cable to the pc first… later hold down volume buttons together for 10seconds and then connect the charging cable to the mobile…. it will enter the revovery mode… later u can reboot from there

@thementalist Bro, as I mentioned, connecting the phone directly to a PC is not an option for me. I need a solution which can work directly on the phone over the internet. And, yes, I do use ADB for other purposes. Were it possible for me to have the devices connected to a PC via USB, I would not have even asked. Anyway, thanks for trying to help. It was definitely a revelation that Mobizen not providing remote control is not related to Android 5.1.1 or lack of root because I read the contrary on their forums and reddit. https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_smile.gif

@myliferockkss Bro, AFAIK, both Vysor and Airdroid are good only for locally, i.e. USB connected phones. Correct me if I am missing something.

@desibuddy No, my use case is not for remote calling. Teamviewer does provide a RDP like experience on Android via Teamviewer Host but that app doesn’t have an add-on for Lyf phones yet.

Well if you’re rooted you can use Remodroid And/Or Droid VNC which I use for local wifi connection (Both PC and phone should be connected to same network) Note that Remodroid have the ability to do it over the internet, I’ve not tested though as I never need that.
@hese if you too are rooted install xposed and then gravity box and then map the power button to any key you want I’ve mapped it to double home press with long home press to flashlight and it does a descent job there. Moreover you can add extra items to the power menu as well. Or if not rooted simply use button remapper app in play store to which I’m not sure will work that efficiently.

By Teamviewer, do you mean teamviewer quicksupport – https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=c... ? I tried on my phone it works.

@xuseronline Yes, I did mention TeamViewer QuickSupport. I have already used it on other devices successfully. But QS apparently does not support Lyf phones yet. When I open it, it asks to download an add-on to enable remote control. Clicking on the download button takes me to an “Item not found” page on Google Play.

@ddnuit263 Yes, I am trying to control the phone remotely over the internet so seems like Remodroid is not an option.

@MovieSeeker By “control the phone remotely”, I meant exactly what it implied. I want to be able to view the phone display and tap/type on it remotely over the internet.

Note: Guys, just to avoid any confusion, my use-case involves the phone to be present in a different physical location far away from me. And keeping it connected to a computer via USB is not an option (for apps like Mobizen or Remodroid).
