In our house, we use a HUL Pureit Intella 12L Water Purifier. It requires a Germkill Kit to be replaced once it has filtered more than 1250 litres of water. Germkill Kit costs around 375rs+50rs delivery. This is a very basic filter. There was another thread in DD which had a simliar discussion regarding water purifiers. Check it once for more info.
Contest Update
Little App Deal Voucher worth Rs.600 will be given to the winner of the contest.
New last date to submit entry will be updated in main post.
At my place, I have Pureit Classic 14L Water Purifier. It is available online cost around 1500rs .it is affordable and doesn’t need gas/electricity for purification. It’s compact and storage purifier claim germ kill technology which give very pure filter water. Once we install new germ kill kit, it can be used for 1500 liter water. The kit cost around 450Rs.
Even if it is mentioned 14L purifier, storage tank is just around 5 to 6 ltrs. Due to which we need to fill it multiple times in a day.
Also we need to cleanup the kit every 2-3 weeks. We need to dissemble the purifier and clean it.
It require some time for filtering and it takes 15-20 min. before water start collecting in storage at bottom.
most of technical details are already available online. If you are interested in buying something affordable then go for it.Highly recommended and I am using it for 3-4 years.
Annual Maintenance around 450 Rs. which is cost of germkill cost.
I am from pune.
Guys, Please mention your city name also as stated in main post.
Thanks for giving your valuable review
Suggestion/Request
AFAIK there are so many users in our community using Mid + High range purifiers!
So its better extend few more days till we get some more replies.
And what exactly is the motto of this thread and also what is that gift??
Very helpful thread indeed! Will bookmark.
Here at Ahmedabad, most of societies have got narmada river water but many places have bore wells too.
I use a conventional ion exchange reverse osmosis plant( the ones with three/two cylinders). One cylinder has a basic mesh filter, another is carbon filter and the last one is harmful impurities remover.
There is an additional membrane and taste chamber as well.
All these may seem too much maintenance but trust me this to plant has very low maintenance cost. Regular cost is that mesh filter only which can easily last 6 months depending on the type of your water. It costs about 50-100 bucks only.
I had bought it for about 12-13k but nowadays such ro plants can easily be bought in 5-6k.
Adv-
The water is really tasty.
Regularly used to get diseases without this plant but not now.
Less maintenance
Disadv-
Requires electricity.
Need to collect waste water( if you really care about water conservation).
Ro removes essential minerals too( not verified by me but heard this rumours).
Thank you for reading.

I’m Using Kent Grand+ 8-Litre Mineral RO+UV Water Purifier Bought around 16800 Offline
This system has inbuilt carbon and sedimentation filters. The RO removes most particles from water whereas UV ray kills all bacteria and germs. It comes with an automatic fault detection system that raises an alarm in case of a problem. Mineral content in the water is regulated using a screw driver by the installation/service technician. This regulation is required to ensure that you have minimum required quantity of mineral in the water.
Maintalnce charge around 700 +300 yearly you can skip to year and half
Living sodala jaipur and water supply is very unhealthy every second home have ro at their place.
Its been 8 Months no problem face til yet I guess you can get cheaper ro to around 7-8 but if you water supply unhealthy then you to pay the price for Brand cuz u dont wanna take a risk at all
its bit heavy but overall good performance yet
