Ebay Fraud- Remittance on hold and account suspended

Am a seller in ebay and have been doing so for the past 6 months but suddenly today I received a mail that my account has been suspended without stating any reason. My remittance for Rs. 60k was due today and one more item shipped almost a week back worth Rs. 20k and now they have suspended my whole account and have put my remittance on hold. The thing is all my shipped items have been confirmed by buyer almost a week back and no one raised any complaint (have received positive feedback from the buyers) and my 80k has now been blocked.

When I checked ebay forum, many members are in the same boat without any resolution. Their CC are not aware of the reason and are not willing to help. Any ways to solve this, please help guys:cry:

you have to wait for one month after that they activate the account and transfer the money

Are you using Powership? Not related but asking in general.

Try sendimg mail to inappeals at eBay dot in. They may provide you with reason for the same.

Just be polite with them and butter them with your words.

Dont worry you will get your money back..Have patience and contact their cc..It may take several days I think..

I have read in newspaper few days back that Gov is planning to bring all e-commerce sites under the Consumer Protection Law.. Once that pitches in then all these GIMMICKS will automatically fade away..

Dear Sir/Ma’m,

I would like to briefly introduce myself; I am an ebay customer since 2011 and have been pretty active buyer in ebay for the past 3 years. Having had exceptional & satisfactory service as a buyer, I started selling in ebay for the past 6 months.

Initially, I had to dispose my old macbook and since I was able to sell it at a very good price, I was very impressed and started selling in ebay pretty frequently for the past 6 months (I was out of country for 2 months and hence no transaction during Sep till 15th Oct ). Let me again say that I have had very positive experience with ebay and was very happy with the paisapay dealings until now.

My remittance of Rs. 58,389/- was due today and when I opened my mail, I was shocked to see that my remittance has been put on hold and selling account suspended and no valid reason is mentioned. Could you please clarify the reason for suspension as I shipped all the items within stipulated time and all the buyers have confirmed receipt and also, left positive feedback for the said transaction.

My intention has been to satisfy the customers and have, in many instances, went out of the way to keep them happy. Other than the mentioned items in order, I have supplied screen-guards/covers to my customer and also have ordered on their behalf as compliment (Value of hardly Rs. 200-300 but it does leave a lasting impression) as I want to retain the buyers.

Also, Please note that, until now, ebay selling was a part-time but my international trip was so that I could source material from abroad and sell it in ebay and have it as a full time business but this suspension has left me scared and in disarray.

I would be much grateful if you could reactivate my account & remit the amount due and also provide reason for suspension so that I can avoid mistakes (If any) that I might have committed unintentionally, in the future.

Am worried because I read in ebay forum that they refund all the amount to buyer and in such a scenario, I dont even have the contact details of my sellers and hence the reason for panic!

They do not return the money to buyer but only threaten the seller that they’ll return. Instead they keep with them and play on other’s money. Well, forget it you will get any reply very soon. There are regional offices of eBay, if you want faster resolution, visit them .I don’t have any idea how to find the location of regional offices.
Rest, my remittance was also put on hold and they kept saying amount will be refunded to buyer for about 2 months. But then after 8-10 months of constant begging, they released my remittance . it was around 3 yrs ago and aroubd 1.5 yrs back , I got Powership and since then no such issue.

Who is your account manager? Your KYC form needs to be updated again before they remove the hold or they require useless POD before they activate your account.

Did you try contacting your account manager?

@tushar- It took 8-10 months to get back your remittance??:shock: How much of your money was stuck with them (if you dont mind me asking).

We have an account manager?? I was not even aware of it but will send a mail & see how it goes but it has been a horrible experience. My KYC was updated only recently (July) and this is the largest amount of transaction I have done in a month (Is there any limit for newbies??)

I am aghast with their customer care & service (if they exist) and the response. We, the sellers, are as important as the buyers but these people seems to feel that we are under their obligation and they are doing us a favor. The biggest problem with this, for me, is that they have not mentioned even any excuse/reason for it. At least if they point our fault, we can try to solve it but this is like firing blindly at a target in a dark room. (end of rant)

For me, around 18-19k were struck and I canceled the order of 70 orders as I was not sure if they will give me the money or not so I didn’t shipped pending orders whose payment was received. And from those 18-19k, they charged me flat Rs 100 per canceled order so I was paid after deducting Rs 7000.

You will not get any reply from them in less than 2-3 weeks. Yes, they will not even provide you with reason. They act as dumb !

Couple of months back, they restricted my few accounts as of the linked account had pending fee of 0.01p .I was not using that account more so I was not aware plus you do not need to pay the fee if the amount is less than Rs 25. This time, around 20-30k struck and they didn’t even mentioned the reason for restricting. Then in one of the call to their Cc, the executive murmered something ‘fee is pending of one of the account’ and I asked him the details to which he said to contact the senior support executive and that b@stard had no idea why my account was restrcited. He said to send email and they will let you know the reason as they cannot check the reason from their side. Cmon man, your junior executive just now murmered the reason before forwarding the call to you and you being on the senior post have no way to check my account details.?
I even sent a mail to my account managed but that idiot also never replied. But then in few days time I got reply from inappeals for reason and I paid the pending 1p and then partial restriction was removed from all the accounts. Now I have limit of number of items I can list and amount of items for each month. Every month I have to beg them to uplift restriction and they check my account status for feedback n claims and then tell me if they can remove partially for that month or not. Else re appeal after a month…

Believe me, their Cc sucks for both Seller as well as buyers…they are enjoying their first mover advantage and there are not other site which allows any occasional seller to sell his item without withput sharing much of his financial details.

To know about your account manager, check your emails from eBay whenever you started selling. You must have got an email from your account manager informing you that be is your account manager and you can reach him for any difficulty etc etc. Dig into your emails. Rest, wait for a week for sure..they won’t reply you that easily.

Thank you for detailed response. I had Rs. 500 pending payment payable till Nov-end, I cleared that and have also mailed inappeals and tried contacting their CC (Chat not available, Phone waited for 10 minutes and then disconnected the call) and sent a mail as well thru their portal. Will wait and see but having seen your plight and various responses in ebay forum, I think it is better to do our business elsewhere.

For Past 3 months, I was selling around 30k worth of items and had no issue but this has really tarnished my impression of them. Is there any advantage of being powerseller? or do they harass us to upgrade to powerseller?

EDIT: Yea, found a mail from one Rashida Dalvi mentioning about catalogues and training regarding selling tools etc, will contact her and see..

You mean powerseller or Powership?Powership is their logistic service so by using this service , you can reduce any fraudulent activity of buyer as well eBay for shipping related stuff. Like after some time they will ask you to provide POD of couriers but with using Powership , they stop harassing you over shipment related stuff.

If your query was on powrrseller , then one my account is a top rated account (from last one month) and my mails from 2 weeks are awaiting for their response. Till you are a regular seller providing huge income to eBay like croma, Randeep singh, gadget guru,etc till then forget timely response. This poor support is their from last year..first i assumed it was temporary but then, there have been not much improvement till now..just drop a mail to inappeals and send them polite reminder after every 3-4 days to know the reason…those guys reply much earlier compared to insellerverification guys. But still, have patience for few weeks to get answer then to resolve the issue (if from your side) and then appeal for upliftment. Be prepared, Whole procedure will easily take a month.

Have received below reply from inappeals and as I suspected, it is because of me helping one of my sellers, which I mentioned in my mail. I had sold Oneplus One phone and since the buyer wanted tempered glass and didnt have experience buying from abroad, I ordered a tempered glass for him on his behalf directly to his address. Nothing of it was hidden and all the correspondence was done with ebay messages but I didnt realise, they will take it this seriously!

Will mail them stating I bought screenguard as additional favor/service and that I did transparently with all messages on ebay..Anything else I should mention?

You mean to say th reason is that you placed an order of a product to one of your buyer’s address from your seller account? If yes, you did one of stupid thing.

Yes, I placed an order from ebay.com for a amount of $3 from my seller account and mentioned my buyers’ as delivery address but I didnt realise it will become such a big problem for me! I mailed them that along with all the correspondence sent thru ebay messages and have apologised for my negligence/stupidity.

No mention about money but in Mypaisapay accounts, it is showing remittance due on 24.11.2014, so fingers crossed!

Does your ‘My paisapay’ says something like ‘Remittance on hold’ etc? Or is it ‘Paisapay is active’ ?

And yes its a big deal for them because now your seller account is Also a buyer account and they linked another account to your present account which was also involved in buying activity.
Multiple buyer accounts are not acceptable by eBay and when they are in spree of suspension, they will suspend all the buyers account. But here, your seller account to linked to a buyer account and hence they are more rigid for your case..

Do not make any more seller account under the same name,same bank,same address,same id (kyc) on eBay ever again..that will also be suspended.
If you plan to sell again, then create on someone else name in your family..and also if you do, do it fast I’d you plan to enroll in Powership. They will enable Powership to your account if you sell 30+ items in previous month so you have time of just 12 days. Sell anything of 100-200 rs just to have no. Of transactions… Once Powership is enabled, then even if your account is suspended, I doubt they’ll threaten you again that they are refunding the buyer.

Also you must have paid with some credit card or internet banking towards your eBay fees, right? Do not use that card no. Or internet banking details ever on eBay. That account will also be suspended in less than 10 min of payment.

Thanks again for the reply. My paisapay has no mention of suspension and even my dashboard does not mention it. But only when I do go to buy/sell, I get warning that my account has been suspended and to contact CC for further details.

My transaction with that buyer (to whom I purchased screenguard) was transparent and hence all the correspondence was done through ebay messages because I did not want to hide anything from ebay and have now forwarded all the messages to ebay. Sadly, checked that buyer account and even he has been suspended (dont even have his contact details:()

As for further transactions, I will really have to think about selling in ebay because am scared with the way they treat their Sellers as Internet is full of it about the problem sellers are facing.

Wait for 24 if you get payment. Else only one thing I can suggest, beg and beg and beg for your ‘earned money’.

you must be dumb enough to add another shipping address into your selling account..

always remember
one seller account per person – that address should not be there in any other account of yours(if you have any) – a phone number which is not there in any ebay account – only one address which you should use for buying and also should be your selling address..

If there is anything small change in this your account will be banned.. Ebay take strict action on all sellers than buyers. buyers loose maximum little money but seller will loose big..

Once i also faced the issue when i played with them by buying my own listings. They just blocked around 60 transactions, asked me for POD.. i couldnt give for some 30 transactions. they refunded all that 30 to buyers(which was my friends account so no issues)..

That remaining money for 30 transactions, they asked me to wait for 45 days. Then i mailed them to inappeals at ebay dot com. They remitted all money back to my back account without any issue.

So dont worry about your money you will get.. They will ask for POD surely if you are not using powershipping.

provide them, then surely you wil get money.

And regarding your account – No way ebay will reactive suspended account. So dont have hope in that

Now that I think about, It was a dumb and stupid thing to do. As I mentioned, I had no intention of cheating/manipulating my seller rating just that wanted to help out a customer (Have done this before but those times, I bought the screenguard to my address then shipped to customer) so will hope that they will reactivate my account but I know it doesnt look like they will. I do have 2 other buyer accounts in family member name and will use that for purchasing from now on.

If I get my money back, I will be more than happy. This foray into ecommerce looked promising but now, will look at alternate ways to complement my earnings (I work in a Company & this was my part time hobby).
