Nearly everywhere you go in the country, people are excited about the entry of Reliance Jio into the Indian telecom scene. Not only has the network’s launch already caused much upheaval in the offerings of other telecom operators, but end users are trying to get their hands on a Reliance Jio SIM card to avail the free data Jio Welcome Offer that lasts till December 31.
Of course, even if users manage to get their hands on a Reliance Jio IM card, many are unable to get the cards activated. With the massive demand continuing to see lines outside Reliance Digital and Digital Xpress stores, it is being reported Reliance Jio may have plans to start home delivery of SIM cards.
Telecom Talk reports that Reliance Jio may introduce an online portal where interested consumers can sign up to book a SIM card. They will be required to provide certain basic information, the report adds, claiming that once this formality is completed the Reliance Jio SIM card will then be delivered to the applicant’s address within 5-7 days.
The report cites unnamed people working with Reliance Jio to add that the SIM card home delivery option has already been tested by the company, and may be launched in metro cities in the country soon. Other cities with supposedly follow. If the report is indeed correct, it remains to be seen if Reliance Jio has made the process of SIM card activation more efficient than the current retail store method.

I went to store twice but couldn’t get a hand on Jio yet. Probably they understood that not everyone is dying to join Jio and hence they won’t wait in queue.

Yeah…. But not a big deal for them. If they can give voice and data free for 3 months then why can’t they afford the shipping cost.
I remember once Airtel gave a 4g sim with newspaper in Mumbai. Existing customer just need to message them for upgradation and start using that sim.
Koi ek SIM dila do mujhe nahi mil pa reha…
