rahulprasadk...

Dear friends, I came across a post on DD about a hair fall treatment consultation. I know this is a problem that a lot of people are facing.Well I am a victim too. I am just 25 years old and my hair is falling like the Rupee. I am from Kerala, and a year of stay in Delhi accelerated my hair fall. Although I have baldness running in my family, none of the male members suffered this condition before 35-40.Since this is a user driven community, I request dear friends to give their 2 cents on this matter. I am pretty sure a lot among us dimers might have faced this problems and people might have their own tricks and solutions for the same.I don’t know whether this is an appropriate forum to post such stuff. This problem has started negatively affecting my confidence and outlook. So, this is a desperate measure.

I have been doing some research of my own. I used Minoxidil for a while but it didn’t help much. Then I found Onions are good to prevent hair fall and boost growth from a friend.Have been following that for a while, not good results yet, but hoping for the best. Google says, it is the most economic and effective natural treatment at the moment.

Does anyone here know about hair grafts and transplants? How effective and economical are those? I have heard that there are local medicines and shrubs which are used by people in remote areas utilizing the knowledge of books written long back. Then again, that’s just hearsay. I don’t want to wear a wig or go for one of those ‘gulfgate’ hair fixing things. Either natural or permanent stuff. In the likes of Sallu bhai, but can’t sell a kidney for the same.

So I request my friends here to put in any knowledge which can help me and others in the forum. Please don’t take this lightly and make fun of me.This is a genuine serious problem which you will only understand when you or your close ones go through. Thanks in advance.

@rahulprasadklm691 You didn’t specify whether you also have dandruff or not. You also didn’t specify whether it’s male pattern baldness or just general hairfall from all over your head. These two things are important. Answer these two questions via PM.

Here are some general suggestions.

(1) Take biotin and folic acid supplements.
(2) Start doing some kind of exercise (Yoga, running, etc.) regularly to increase the oxygenated blood flow in your body.
(3) Get your thyroid levels tested (Free T3, free T4, and TSH).

Hairfall in early age and mid age occurs only in crown areas where the pores are more susceptible to be blocked by DHT ( an enzyme). More stress causes more DHT so first make sure you live a stress free life no matter what.

Let me build it up step by step for you.

1. causes
More DHT causes more hairfall. Nope, DHT doesn’t kick the hair off your head but blocks new hair from growing. It is a natural process for every hair strand to shed every 3 months. But when you hair strand sheds this DHT enzyme slowly pools up around the pore and blocks the pore. So first you will start to see hair thinning and eventually a completely blocked pore.

2. Areas that get effected.
Only the roots in the crown area of the head are susceptible to DHT and hair in other areas are resistant to DHT so not effected by DHT. So basically it effects the crown area.

3. Remedies.
Anything and everything that reduces DHT can be helpful. There are shampoos with argon oil that help suppress DHT, there are medicines such as biotin that help you, there are laser combs that help you and what not. But none promise guaranteed results, they only help you so much.

Apart from this, ensure you are reducing stress in a regular manner. No matter what work you do let your body feel that it’s part of daily routine and not something extra that you are doing. For example if you work out like crazy once a week and then ease off later you body will feel the stress that day. Instead workout every day, let your body feel that workout is just like having breakfast everyday.

For more accurate remedies I would suggest visiting a good doctor who can understand your lifestyle and your history to suggest you better.

4. Treatment
For early stages laser treatments and medication will help but beyond certain stage you have to go for grafting or transplant.

In hair transplant hair from parts of your head apart from crown area are removed one by one including the root and planted on your crown area, as the roots in those areas are resistant to DHT your hair will be preserved even on crown area on transplanted. Generally transplant is done if only around 20% to 30% of your crown hair is lost. Because you do not have enough hair in non crown areas to support the baldness in crown area beyond certain percentage. If more hair is removed from non crown areas you will begin to see baldness there.

So for extreme cases the only way to do is by grafting. In grafting an artificial layer of skin is produced and hair that matches your natural hair is carefully attached to it then this layer is attached on to your head. The artificial skin supports natural hair to grow and come out of it too so eventually you will have a mix of your natural hair growing and the artificial hair.

I got all this info from my visit to Advanced Hair Studio in Hyderabad. So do visit them in case you need help. They are bloody expensive but their treatments look promising too.

Thanks guys, overwhelmed by the response. Didn’t expect this to happen.

I have male pattern baldness I guess.Hair is receding from the sides and on the top(Crown).I did suffer from dandruff but it is gone for now or at least I think so. Earlier when I used to comb, dry skin peels, like the ones you get after a wound heals used to come along with my hair. Now they don’t. Just the hair falls.Heard about advance hair studio but can’t go there,at least for a few years to come. Also, even after this grafts or transplants, won’t that hair fall off too? Don’t they have a shelf life? They aren’t indestructible or anything right?
Thanks for the inputs dealseeker and Raghupro.Means a lot. Glad that I didn’t rest my faith at the wrong place.

Pollution in Delhi is too…tooo high main reason.
Personal life style involves tension…from early morning..in city life…run run…run
I am told to do neti and shirshasan regularly and avoid all chemicals shampoos use plain shikakai..etc
No hair colors….very very dangerous…but no escape…try super vaasmol…bit ok

All the above things are almost impractical in city life….try your best…but believe me you will get used to it slowly…your true loves will be with you whether you have hair or not…I mean do not take it so serious else you will fall into that tension loop: Loosing hair <==> Tension

@rahulprasadklm691 Before you use any ‘more’ chemicals use my method. More than 5 people have used it (including me) and it has proven more than 90% effective.

First, there are varied reasons for hairfall. From your description it doesn’t looks like a hereditary problem. Whatever the reason, you can slow down the process. It’s good that you are aware of the problem and acted before it’s too late. Once the hair is gone it’s very difficult to regenerate it back. If the pores on your head close, the hair can’t grow back from the hair follicles.

The remedy: I don’t know if you have heard about ‘essential oils’. These are nature’s best gift (as I put it).

What you need to do:
Buy these essential oils and prepare a solution.

1. Caster oil: http://www.amazon.in/Soulflower-Coldpressed-Oli... (amazon was offering 100 off on soulflower products check this forum for coupon)
or
http://www.firstcry.com/aloe-veda/aloe-veda-col...

2. Rosemary: http://www.amazon.in/Allin-Exporters-Rosemary-O...

3. Lavender: http://www.amazon.in/Truly-Essential-Lavender-f...

4. Clary sage: http://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B00Q2SK018?psc=...

5. Cedarwood: http://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B00H0FUYPY?psc=...

6. Thyme: http://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B00K5OK88U?psc=...

7. Jojoba carrier oils: http://www.amazon.in/Soulflower-Coldpressed-Joj..._

8. Tea Tree: http://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B00TPPI1BG?psc=...

9. Grapeseed Oil: http://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B00BOLAFSG?keyw...

All these oils should cost you around 2000 and last more than 10-12 months.

Recipe:

Caster oil is thick hence it needs to be diluted with other ‘carrier’ oils. Most suitable ones are Jojoba and Grapeseed (use and see what suits you most). I use 2/3 caster oil in 1/3 Jojoba. Now, in a bottle (only use glass) prepare the solution. You can get a typical bottle at homeopathic store for 10 bucks each size 30ml. Add 10-12 drops of Rosemary. 6 drops of lavender. 6 drops of clary sage. 5-6 drops of cedarwood. 5-6 drops of thyme. 9-10 drops of Tea-tree oil. You can spare tea-tree oil if you don’t have dandruff. Mix these and keep the bottle in a shade (avoid sunlight).

Application:

I use recommend using this oil to message your hair scalp every alternate day/night. Take a generous amount in your palm. apply it on your scalp and massage the roots gently with your finger tips for 5 mins. You can apply the oil before bed and rinse off in the morning with a light shampoo.

Caution: If you are a person that has a problem with a sensitive skin, it is strongly advised that you perform a skin patch test before using any essential oils for the first time. Mix 1 drop of the oil you wish to test, with a teaspoon (5 ml) of carrier oil – such as sweet almond oil or grape seed oil. Apply a small amount of this mixed oil to the inside of your wrist or elbow and leave uncovered for twenty four hours. This area must not be washed for this period of time. If no sign of itching, redness or swelling occurs after the 24 hour period, it should be safe for you to use the oil.

Hope this helps. Tag me or inbox me if you have any queries. I am not frequently on this website nowadays but will try to respond ASAP. Take care.

Then simply follow the three suggestions I mentioned.

I asked @rahulprasadklm691 to tell me if his condition is male pattern baldness (MPB) because there is no external treatment like hair oils or ointments that are scientifically effective for that. As @raghupro pointed out, MPB is aggravated due to DHT (a testosterone derivative). There are some scientific ways to control and treat this hormonal condition, but since you also “think” that you don’t have this condition, I won’t go into details.

By the way, the genes for male pattern baldness are dominantly inherited from the maternal side. You guys should read this page thoroughly to identify whether your hair fall is due to MPB or not. http://www.wikihow.com/Know-if-You-Have-Male-Pa...

I have been losing hair for a long time. but overall i still have the same amount of hair that i used to around 3-4 years back.

First thing is not to worry too much about it. Its a natural process. Tension and thinking too much about it makes it look much worse than what it already is. So stop thinking too much about it.

Things i did to avoid hair loss.
Stop having head bath regularly.
Always keep short hair. The longer your hair, the more the hairfall.
Do not apply anything to your hair unless you got it from a doctor.

I used to worry a lot about it before and tried a lot of things to stop it. Then i stopped worrying and i don’t feel too bad now. I still lose hair and will probably lose all of them in a few more years. But lets not lose sleep over it. Its a natural process just like birth and death.

How old r u sir ? And did u faced any side effect of Finasteride (finalo) ? like low libido , erectile dysfunction, etc ?

I am using oil massage by mixing Rosemary, lavender, coconut, emu, castor, almond by reading in a tutorial. i started using from January 2016 and 3 times a week. But from July month i m facing MPB hair loss , also i m from north east (bihar) and its humadity and monsoon this time. So i started using AMENXIL (Minoxodil 5%) from 1month.

So my question is , shouldi use Minoxodil or not ? because many people are saying after stopping hair loss will again occur. So should i sticked to oil and onion ?

What about Finasteride side effect ?

Well I haven’t seen any side effect but now doctor suggested me to use Morr 12.5% and hair fall u.

Disadvantage of Minoxidil is once u stop treatment u will face hair loss. I will suggest u to go with Onion juice if its working perfectly for you.

My age is 27 Yr

Even I am planning to move to Ayurvedic treatment once enough hair came back with Minoxidil.

Many people claiming that Sesa oil works for them. Do you can try that also.
