E-com industry have now much more new issues -
Delivery boys quitting jobs preferring delivery of light weight goods .
Many states charging their own taxes on entry of online sold goods .
Now rumor of online sale tax .
Means are those companies came here for business or free service out of investors pocket ?
There should be a common law for sellers .
Till yet I don’t think any e-com company of any sector earning even break even point of revenue , all are in loss and only amzm uber type co can expect profit that too after decades if such thing goes on .

There should be capping of minimum price (except in seasonal deals n offers) for online rstailers but taxes or monopoly of local market not good .
Govt startup India plan is good but financial policies yet not ecom friendly , taxes on each thing by state or center not a solution to save local retailers .
But also to be keep in mind that if all retailers will be vanished offline then these ecom will not even give 1% discount too and can put surcharge too . so monopoly of any of these is not in favor of consumer market .

The way paytm working , it seems it is alibaba or amazon of India , too much spreader its roots in many sectors and many are upcoming like in virtual banking , offline wallet at every shop , from recharges to iMac , every company funds are drying up while paytm is only more fueling its operations .

Online businesses that depends on advertisement revenue are profitable, ecomm businesses are high loss makers. Even UBER and Amazon won’t be making profit atleast in India for ten years or more…….

In India only Paytm type model can survive in the long run. After all, its an old saying, never put all your eggs in one basket. Cross subsidising, where the earning from sale of Movie tickets and Hotel rooms, commission from bill collection etc subsidise the discounts given on merchandise and so on. A model that focuses more on the role of a service provider/intermediary rather than actual seller.
