erail too is doing a lot of this currently and also available on Android. A great website that and also a good app. Still this is a good initiative from Indian Railways. Hope it works well.
Their new App NTES is for Windows 8.0 phones only..
used the app yesterday.. very fast and very precise tracking.. the train movement was tracked down to last 4-5 minutes each time I checked…

NTES website has been there for a long time.
Someone should complain about not making Android app when many people are using Android. I am pretty sure it is because of Microsoft – someone should file anti competitve claim.

it is highly likely that the app is sponsored/ created by Microsoft.
or may be Microsoft heavily bribed IRCTC officials so as not to make Android app , even though most of Indians use Android.

Still the big question remains unanswered.. How much time will it take to open? And how many times do we need to refresh it
