Eiffer Tower

It was named after the engineer Alexandre Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower.

Opened: March 31, 1889

Height: 301 m

Completed on March 31, 1889, the tower was the world’s tallest man-made structure for 41 years until the completion of the Chrysler Building in New York in 1930.

It is 324 metres tall (including antennas) and weighs 10,100 tonnes.

It is possible to climb to the top, but there are 1,665 steps. Most people take the lift.

The lifts travel a combined distance of 103,000 km a year – two and a half times the circumference of the Earth.

Eiffel also designed interior elements of the Statue of Liberty.

Repainting the tower, which happens every seven years, requires 60 tonnes of paint.

The Eiffel Tower has 20,000 lightbulbs, 5,000 per side, that sparkle for five minutes on the hour, every hour, from nightfall to 1AM. What might surprise some is that
it is illegal to take a photograph of the tower at night because the light display is considered artwork and therefore protected under copyright law. Snap off a picture and you can be fined.

Those who don’t get the “Man Friday” reference should look up “Robinson Crusoe”. https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_smile.gif

By the way, the link you and I posted points to the post by @Mr_N while @nibraselat579 posted a link to that thread. Nibra, bro, take note. Mr_N’s post is a better version.

Ha ha. I knew that was coming. https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_biggrin.gif

Bro, any helpful, loyal person could be addressed as “man Friday”. That’s how it is used commonly. Cheers!

I prefer Zippyshare for image uploads. Works with the most basic of browsers i.e. lacking Javascript support. And very bandwidth friendly to boot.

jeez please Parth [not done smiley assumed] !
back on mobile so not searching, patchy network :-/

.

I was already chuckling at the hilariousness if someone doesn’t get the context and assumes it is something to do with Friday.
but here you :-/ an altogether different twist.

.
.

I have updated my post to add the word ‘our’ resident Man Friday and by that

i mean ‘a guy to go to’ and a ‘problem solver’.

Though Parth, isn’t someone ‘giving’ assistance STILL better?
So I hope, it isn’t seen with a negative connotation.

Most businessmen, Statesmen, Politicos, bureaucracy/ Babudom or @admin would still be much less without an efficient and capable support of working hands.

And at times the wit, courage, shrewdness, tact or what have you of such assistants [mythical Krishn as chariot puller, mythical Birbal] are better than whole armies https://cdn3.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_lol.gif

Is that primarily for images and does it allow hotlinking without restriction on bandwidth use?

I was recently made aware of https://www.imageupload....k/ after some dimer embedded a link/image

so I found out the sites using the basic clean interface (and easy of use) and image limits not restricted to measly 2-4MB like imagur.

eventually came to http://www.ultraim...m/ ..because remembering the url isn’t even a task if the image file name doesn’t change .

previously of-course used archival sites, simplest and not restriction on hotlinking.

The only restriction in Zippyshare is files are deleted if they are not downloaded even once for 30 days. But nt sure how that applies to images. Just browsing counts or actual download. Also its a filehost primarily and hotlinking is nt allowed. But its been my go to site for my file uploads for the last 2 years or so and I love it!
It works with UDisk private cloud which makes restoring deleted files a one click near instantaneous process.
