Introducing Paytm FASTag, the end of travel delays
https://paytm.com/blog/highways-go-cashless-wit...
India’s highways are going cashless with Paytm. We have partnered with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to allow you to zip through highway tolls across the country.
It all starts with the Paytm FASTag. This small sticker on your car’s windshield is valid at more than 350 toll plazas. It’s a clever bit of RFID technology that allows instant cashless payments from your Paytm Wallet.
Here’s a little bit of how it’s going to go.
Believe it or not, over INR 87,000 Cr is wasted every year in extra fuel and time spent at Toll checkpoints. These FASTags will ensure your Wallet, the Toll Attendant and even Mother Earth thanks you.

RFID is great technology and I was waiting for it to be used on Indian highways.
Thanks PayTM for introducing it.
Any idea when and how can we get this RFID tag?
Is this the same as ICICI Fastag
Isn’t FASTag was already outsourced to ICICI?
yes, its the same one. Process of procuring Fastag through ICICI was time consuming. Paytm will surely do a better job.
The idea and purpose behind Fastag is excellent however the implementation leaves lot to be desired. I travel between Chennai-Bangalore every week and the bus i usually take ( Parveen travels GO green Scania) has a Fastag sticker . In some toll booth such as Attiebele toll in Bangalore border, security guards ensure that no non-fastag vehicle can enter a fastag lane however on heavily crowded tolls such as Krishnagiri , fastag lanes are crowded by regular folks. Hopefully, things will improve for good.
Fastag must be available in all toll plaza first, but its available in only 2 out of 5 toll plaza in our journey, so i thought its waste of time to spend extra 350 as activation fees, and yearly renewal fees and other 15 % govt service tax……and big process..
but now in paytm , so i am sure it will easy and i will surely consider
