Amazon has a funny way of packing things as already mentioned by fellow dimers here.
The pack groceries in large cardboard boxes stuffed with tiny pillow like bubble wraps and make sure that my surf excel pack doesn’t burst whereas an expensive phone that costs almost 100x or even more than surf is packed in a smile bubble wrap cover, damage to phone box ensured.
Anyways, that’s the only complaint I have with Amazon.
Coming to deals, yes, I do make sure I avail the best deals but that isn’t the only criteria to make a purchase. The deals will dry out eventually and we will have to take a decision on the experience of shopping later. Amazon clearly wins here!
+1
They doesn’t pack mobiles properly! But still everything is intact. Seems that there is another section area where electronics products are kept during transit.

Amazon is concentrating more on profitability and sustainable business, cutting costs on packing, cheap logistics, etc.
In my city they have tied up with DTDC guys to deliver ATS couriers

+1 last few times I shopped with Amazon they dint seem ATS guys . I recollect one was from some wow express and the person who delivered Tropicana was for sure wasn’t of ATS but package was delivered .I don’t know if it’s because of the internal strike at ATS but whatever it is either backup plan or strategy to cut costs my parcels are still getting delivered on time

some more details:
This year will also see the direct entry of China’s Alibaba which already owns significant stakes in Paytm and Snapdeal. Paytm is considering a plan to spin off its online marketplace to allow Alibaba establish a direct presence in the world’s fastest growing ecommerce market, ET reported last month.
Japan’s Rakuten has also opened a business office in Bengaluru and started poaching mid level managers from Flipkart and Amazon for setting up an online retail platform in India, ET reported earlier this week.
India last month allowed 100% foreign direct investment in online marketplaces, clearing ambiguity over the business models of Amazon, Flipkart and Snapdeal. However, it had barred marketplaces from offering any discounts themselves and influencing prices on their platforms. Also, no vendor could account for more than 25% of total sales on its respective marketplaces.
Big Yes
Its been ages since I shopped from Flipkart, Amazon all the way – at least 3-4 orders a week.
Flipkart pricing is crap when compared to Amazon

Paytm already has RBI approval as payment bank. Also the new guidelines on online marketplace are silent on cashback. So hiving off the marketplace to Alibaba and then acting as their main payment gateway, with cashback offers in paytm wallet would be a win win situation for both.
Amazon kept its interface simple & very fast.
That is easy for layman users.
It might be a reason in adding new users very fast.
Amazon is also better in customer care.
