I have beem using helpchat for few months and used for few recharges and cab bookings. But from past few weeks I am getting the feeling that its becoming too much intrusive. Lots of notifications throughout the day.. I disabled most of them, but they resumed after app updates, so disabled again. Them few days back, saw persistant notifications about helpchat balance expiring which would not go away with swipe and the app had to be opened to get rid. The app itself is too flashy.. round red animated circles popping to the face.. i still ignore. Today I opened paytm app and there I saw a blue flashing circle with paytm written. I thought it was similar to facebook ping. So clicked on it.. oh no.. it was helpchat.. thats it.. uninstalled.. you dare read what applications I have installed and monitor them.. god knows what else are you doing in the backed.. and then they swnt an email aaking why I uninstalled.. well keep wondering.. thanks

Just disable app, using force stop and activate when there is any offer via DD channel alert.

Once i got a msg from irctc abt booking confirmation. And after that hlpchat popped up notification asking if I wanted a cab for railway stn. May be it even reads the msgs from banks like otp, dc info etc

I will share my experience.
I use zenfone and it has an app called auto start manager which prevents any app to open automatically by itself. Have added many apps there and checked. No mai ka laal app has started by itself but Helpchat oh my god. It does start!
Now I have system level blocking still I can’t understand how hc gets its way. Really it’s one hell of an intrusive app. Don’t keep it if you don’t use it.

Points OP raised are very valid. Let’s not ignore them. I have also been using Helpchat even before they became famous in DD. Many times i have also felt Helpchat is getting too intrusive, To give a few example.

1) Hepchat saves your card detail : I don;t mind this as long it is optional. Every wallet app lets you save card details but with most other apps, you get an option whether to save the details or not With Helpchat, no such luck. Only website i’m comfortable storing my card details is Amazon coz i trust their security.

2) Like someone mentioned above, Helpchat knows everything. You book a bus. they read the freaking sms and send you a pop up immediately. You book a train, they will pop up asking whether you need a cab.

3)Those Helpchat notifications gets on your nerve at times. You disable them, they manage to bypass the block again.

4)They will notify you of coupons that never works. Everyday i get around 5-7 cab notification from Helpchat for cab booking since i book Uber/Ola everyday twice. Trust me, not even a single coupon works. Only those generic one’s you see on top of app works.

5)Helpchat customer care is very naive and not very helpful. I was denied cashback’s multiple times citing that i did not apply coupons even though i had applied.

6)Helpchat’s terms & conditions for deals are very vague. They don’t let you know the terms upfront. Even if you click on terms of a deal, app will redirect you back to home screen.

BTW, i did not exploit any Helpchat deals.

I was using their services normally. Just 1 account for recharges and bill payment. Absolutely nothing else. Still they have put restrictions saying you have violated hc t&c. Didn’t get cashback for last recharge too.

I am not sure in what was it was looted. Yeah they gave lots of CB deals but it cant be said as loot as they ver the ones who gave offers and There is ntn wrong in utilizing the companies offers snt it?
And morover they were not instant discounts also. U had to use a cab to get cashbacks which could only be used for recharge until they launched amazon GC recently. ost of the offers were not once per acnt. They gave 50% CB for almst 10 times every month. And max CB was also restricted. And there was no chance of miusing referral as they havent given code to most of them.. Totally, agree with OP. I too have uninstalled the Helpchat app due to its over activity. They aggressively monitor things happening in the phone. On uninstalling the app, their boring Emails Pop-up citing reasons for removal. I suggest all to use helpchat in any secondary android phone than the primary one whenever any offer arrives.

HelpChat is really crossing limits…

I think, they should not have right to interfere in our personal life/activities…

just sharing reason, why I uninstalled:
I paid few of my bills through helpchat.
now, I started getting notifications, saying that my number is not subscribed under DND. And asked me, if they should do the needful for me.
Isn’t it a nonsense?? A person who is using mobile application, he cannot go to cellular company website and process DND services?

There are few other noticiations also, which proves that helpchat is more interested on our activities and keeping a track on our daily activities…

I have always got OLA when I booked through Helpchat.

Overall experience is that, my cost of trip after helpchat offer was equal to what UBER normal charges.


Yes – recharge offers were good, innitially
but that does not mean that we give them liberty to keep on accessing our daily activities.
- even if i try to book tickets through yatra, I get notification from help chat about travel offers
- when I try to book cab through meru/ola/uber, i get cab offer notifications
- when I browse something relevant to restaurants, get their offers notifications

That day is near, when I will be in bathroom and they will send me a notification communicating that you can book water tank through our app
And if I am out to enjoy honeymoon, then…………………

We have seen many startups .. come / evolve and die , bounded by very basic human nature we never complain while we are enjoying the offers and once the startup start acting straight ( i.e banning multiple accounts / enhanced security measures / being proactive in gathering data .. bit sneaky ) all the hell open loose . My only point was that just uninstall that particular app and move on . What is left in complaining about them , sending mails , giving playstore ratings . The same thing is with all apps,though some of yhem get very intrusive

1 backup app apk viia es explorer and uninstall and reinstall apps
2 greenify apps with greenify or greenify donate ver avalible on xda
3 manage app permission if u r on marshallow and above
If u are on kitkat and android use app call appops
U cn manage noticifation
U cn restrict background data to each app

Personally i cant keep so many app ,i jst install their apk file ,use the app and then unistall

I never used helpchat. Downloaded and kept as it is. Uninstalled after too much notificatios and bad app interface recently.
