Isnt helpchat becoming too much intrusive

I have beem using helpchat for few months and used for few recharges and cab bookings. But from past few weeks I am getting the feeling that its becoming too much intrusive. Lots of notifications throughout the day.. I disabled most of them, but they resumed after app updates, so disabled again. Them few days back, saw persistant notifications about helpchat balance expiring which would not go away with swipe and the app had to be opened to get rid. The app itself is too flashy.. round red animated circles popping to the face.. i still ignore. Today I opened paytm app and there I saw a blue flashing circle with paytm written. I thought it was similar to facebook ping. So clicked on it.. oh no.. it was helpchat.. thats it.. uninstalled.. you dare read what applications I have installed and monitor them.. god knows what else are you doing in the backed.. and then they swnt an email aaking why I uninstalled.. well keep wondering.. thanks

My dear dimers , might be my post was not that well explained and i can’t guarantee that every-time i will be 100% correct but the gist was very simple . We have seen many startups .. come / evolve and die , bounded by very basic human nature we never complain while we are enjoying the offers and once the startup start acting straight ( i.e banning multiple accounts / enhanced security measures / being proactive in gathering data .. bit sneaky ) all the hell open loose . My only point was that just uninstall that particular app and move on . What is left in complaining about them , sending mails , giving playstore ratings . If something is now not suiting your needs just remove it from your life .

I completely respect and understand your point. But being silent is not good. Yes, offers were used, cabs were booked, for which there were FPDs, karmas given and what not. Dimers were not silent. Now the company is moving to malpractice and dimers are sharing their opinion, experience and alternatives. Dimers are still speaking. People are free to choose any alternative suggested or can ignore if they are comfortable.

Chees!! https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_smile.gif

Malpractice is a strong word.. No company has time to read your personal messages or listen to your calls (As suggested by someone above). My guess is they have an automated system which reads sms and based on a few keywords show you appropriate ads. We have reached a stage of data analytics where all these things are very much possible and easily too. Google and Facebook are also doing all these at a much much bigger scale. Do we stop using all of them? We are living in an informational age where data is everything and every company is fighting for/with their share of data..

PS: I dont have an helpchat account. Neither do I have a facebook account (Its deactivated for about a year) but its not because I am scared that these companies will track/intrude my privacy.. Its by choice..

I was of exactly the same opinion. One of the worst apps you can have on your phone. What nobody has mentioned is the app stays permanently in RAM and will affect phone performance.
Also they denied cashback last time though coupon successfully applied, citing max redemptions over.
One can freeze the app and that’s what I’ve done, but it’s best not to use such apps.

Does ankur reading all emails?

That’s an automated mail as they are tracking each and everything.
For few offers can’t comprise with my private details.
And they don’t know What details they are taking away.

Uninstall and give 1star on Play store and be silent . But don’t forget to inform all your friends and family about it.

The moment I hit “Install” in play store long ago, I was shocked to see the number of permissions they wanted. Never installed!

Not only device info bro.

They know whom you call, what you do in SMS, how many Contacts and whom you have in there. How many transactions you make from your credit cards/banks, insurances you have for which you get messages.

There is a thumb rule. If you don’t pay for it, you are not the customer, you are the commodity being sold.

Cheers!

Not if you use a google account for playstore and contacts sync and have a few apps on that phone which are logged in to sync data with your main phone https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_smile.gif

LoL that’s most unlikely to happen. The government is even more interested in your details. Worry a lot more about government snooping than companies like helpchat.
