Buy a Jio-Fi device at 1999 and enjoy 4G on all 3G mobiles.

My friend has flashed Rom with LTE support. I was also shocked because for 4g signals it needs 4g hardware.
But the firmware is LTE only and for usa phones only

Earlier, I was using a similar ROM having LTE indicator(Signal). Those things dont work actually. The indicator reflects LTE/4G for 2G signals https://cdn3.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_lol.gif https://cdn3.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_lol.gif Dont trust such things https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_wink.gif

If the hardware supports LTE and only the firmware is not enabled, flashing would make LTE possible. But if the necessary LTE Radio in Band 3/5/40 is not available, no flashing can enable LTE.

And that’s 100% true, i have redmi 2 prime…which was stated as 4G (Data) phone (but non-VoLTE) phone, you can check at GSMARENA OR any other website. Recently, i upgraded firmware from MIUI7 (android 4.4) to MIUI 7.5 (now MIUI 8) with android 5.1 and voila….enable VoLTE option was automatically added with full calling (even video) support. Now i am enjoying Jio with it.

Basically, i think one on Android 5.x (Lollipop) can easily use VoLTE.

Suggested ROMs are :
1. MiIUI official Global ROMs (check miui website)
2. Cyanogen MODs (check cyanogen website)
3. Custom Lollipop MODs for some phones

Search xda developers for your needs…

PS : RISK is all yours.

If your phone is mediatek based (try CPU-Z to determine), you can enable LTE via a Simple Trick,
Just search Google Play Store for MTK Engineering Mode, install any one app and use options to enable LTE.

Or

Simply dial ##4636## and go to phone information1 (you must put Jio SIM in slot 1), set preferred network type to LTE/GSM auto (PRL) and reboot your phone, wait for network bars to appears and enjoy Jug Jug Jio.

If it doesn’t works, dial above code again and click on Run Ping Test (inside phone information1)…if it passes ping test then exit and enjoy 4G feature else……Grab a 4G Phone.
