Old messages are available on Mobile App , not on desktop I think.

Right thread for a good cause…. OP is right there should be message feature along with chat & Users should also be given an option to logout from chat….. Chat feature is like Kejriwal odd/even rule, good thought but wrongly arranged, imposed on dimers against their wish

I doubt that. They want to phase out the old PM feature in favor of this new chat feature. The PMs are still accessible but if you try to reply or send a new PM, you get redirected to the chat feature.

@admin @anthrax.ut Please keep the PM feature in addition to the chat feature. Both features have their pros and cons, so let the users decide what they want to use. Moreover, there are no formatting options available in the chat window. Formatting options and emojis should be added like how they appear in the compose window for a new post/thread.

Guess I’m the odd one out then. I found the chat option a hell lot better & convenient compared to the old PMs.

yes chat feature is terrible for slow internet connection.

@DealSeeker Emojis are already there. Basic Formatting (Bold, Underline etc) is going to be added soon.

When you guys say “Offline”, are you referring to not showing a window popup instead just have messages/chats under http://www.desidime.com...ts

I am using old version of DD app , I don’t know why notification are not coming, earlier everything was fine.

In simple words, the new chat feature is kind of annoying. I think I feel that way primarily because of the intrusive popups. So you should add a setting in the user profile to allow users to choose whether the popup appears or not. The popup works like Gtalk where all the open tabs start displaying the new chats and the window/tab titles start “blinking” (highly annoying). But Gtalk/Gmail is only for messaging/chatting while DD is also for peacefully browsing the deals. That is the big difference.

Also, the window/tab title sometimes changes to “null” when there is a chat popup open on it. It’s a bug. Please investigate and fix. By the way, what happened to the user status indicator/light which used to appear next to the usernames? Clicking on it allowed people to immediately open a chat popup. That was the most useful feature IMO and now it has disappeared! [ Update: The green/gray dot doesn’t appear next to every username. Please investigate and fix.]

Instead of the maximized popup, you could display a minimized version of the popup at the bottom right corner and have it “blink”, rather than the window/tab title. That would be an acceptable compromise.

Thanks For Your Reply, But The Reply was actually to know why we are hating chat , Inatead it should have been on why Message Feature Is Disabled/Removed

We hate Chat because Its annoying and When uts not 100% Ready why are you forcing us to Use it and Why you removed Messages feature ?

We Need the Message Feature Back, Then Additionally you can add whatever you want like Chat, Ping .. Etc !

I am really surprised you did not even ask once before doing this ( Removing Message Feature )

Now please do not tell me that I can access msgs from desidime.com/messages, I want that Feature back under My Account Tab

If you can remove the Chat feature from My a/c, then i will be highly obliged
