Moreover, there’s no point in archiving the chat messages as posts if you are not going to read/search that information before asking a question in the chat. Kind of kills the point of archival, don’t you think?

With that said, @admin should definitely consider adding a “live search” feature to make the forums more user friendly.

Seems like you want a shoutbox/chat feature to avoid searching. Not much wrong with being lazy, but think about the sustainability. If everybody starts asking questions before reading/searching a thread, how many times do you think the helpful responders would oblige before lashing out or going completely silent?

Yes, you should definitely search/read before asking. People already post similar questions and get responses all the time. By the way, with the “Search within a thread” box, searching for such information is already easy.

The only valid use-case I see for creating a shoutbox/chat feature is for threads like these:

Lol! Lots of Demands!! If we still keep on bugging the DD founders they might roll out a Premium version with added features or something! ….they can add paytm, mobikwik, payumoney etc gateways also…for benefit of premium members

ShoutBox is like Bidhan Sabha. Bolta sab hai lekin sunta koi kisi ki nahi. While Chat Box is different thing.

They wont put shoutbox because they can not moderate that. Kuch Samjhe Bhiya
