no i do not, i reached the Oscars a good 5-6 hours after the show got over.

i was bit intrigued when tags from sane folks like @Magus and @DealSeeker pointed to a hot deals link which was a scraped topic and unfortunately the curious chutiya that i am, i queried Google with that link. [Google Cache]

it would be an understatement to say that i was aghast to note that the people at the helm of affairs in this organisation not just paid for but also approved (of) this creative. Worse, they themselves tom-tom it to the world.

I have been here (visitor of this site) long, pretty long and seen a lot,
and i say it with conviction: this stroke of genius (sarcasm) on part of Desidime makes it amongst the top 5 of the ‘lowstupidest Desidime/dimers can ever go’ list.

so much so that i just haplessly threw my hands [while holding my essay (and an overcoat¿)] and muttered something incoherently after getting the tag/s from Magge and DS

Dada they obviously not just endorsed it, they actually said ‘yes’ to the creative and/or approved the few shortlisted drafts or sketches produced by whoever was the agency, then finalised the 1 or 2 final versions/stories and then proudly added it to they official social feeds and even more proudly are displaying it displayed it here or on other places. they obviously tested the water with this one but have more than one of similar provocative nature.

Going forward, till they have addressed the Dimers’ thoughts to the Dimers satisfaction, i see no reason for me to punch out any words that sometimes need to be used. i will now be using them without any euphemisms.

really a surprise and grace of God that people with such line of thought too do fairly well for themselves in life !

but then i realised, the idea must have originated in some discussions within the agency (appointed by or on behalf of Desidime) and not in the teams of Desidime.

and for marketing or advertising agencies to go beyond the realms of acceptable isn’t new.

Them doing it, is NOT offensive per se,
Desidime accepting it; IS.

But the thing is , in today’s world you need to do offensive things to create buzz and make it viral etc ( Not my view) .. but seeing all media controversy and people praising them … like abusive videos of TVF , AIB , udta punjab etc , maybe the media teams have assumed that offensive is the way to go .
But they don’t know that we dimers here at DD will always have Dual stand / nature .. on DD we will promote all kind of bad stuffs like loots / cheating / stealing etc and when it came to video .. they just took just opposite stand .

Can happen with anyone , any idea can backfire .
