Old But reminding to new one's - Karma is Trust
This is too all the people who are asking for karma in return for giving them something
What is karma?
Answer: Karma is a measurement on how much other DesiDimers trust you. And how helpful you have been to the community. Karma is measured by “Karma points” which will be visible on each and every user profile page. Karma points simply denote your contribution to the entire community and how you have helped people save money.
Can I beg for Karma? Should I ask for Karma?
Answer: Begging for Karma is a sure way to get negative Karma from Admin or other members. Repeatedly Begging for Karma points can lead to a block on your account after which one cannot receive any further Karma points nor can give karma points to anyone else. If any user is found asking for +ve karma through Personal messages or other means,he/she shall be suspended or banned from the Karma system completely. Earn your Karma & don’t beg for it.
How people treat you is their karma; how you react is yours

Thank goodness! You shocked me for a second by using that emoticon which is pointing an arrow right at my post.

The meaning of the verse is—
You have the right to work only,,,,,,,,but never right to its fruits.
Let not the fruits of action be your motive, nor let your attachment be to in action.
Keep on performing your duties without being attached to the result of your actions. Either you get something or you don’t get anything, you should not worry about it. You should have a neutral behavior.

karam par hi adhikar hai , bande tera.. bus karam kare jaa , fal ki chinta na kar tu..
One should only do hi karam(work) and should not think about the profit/benift of it, as you dont have in right to do so
Bahut hi purana aur Famous shlok(Sanskrit) hai @Dealseeker , you should have known this Atleast

Ah, thanks. I topped my class in Sanskrit when I was in the 8th grade (mid-90s) so this is embarrassing.
Also, thank you for your explanation, @sheetalvarunyadav2223!
I have gone through my posts and would like to highlight the following to clarify my perspective on this issue.
A lot of relevant discussion in this thread:

Some instances from my seemingly never-ending list of posts where I discouraged karma begging:

Very good thread OP. Some of the dimers especially newbies are trying real cheap tricks to get karma. The worst was a thread i saw couple of days back, one dimer had a one coupon and he was giving it away. His demand was to keep giving him karma and he might consider your name for giveaway. He wanted to gather as much karma as possible with one single coupon i guess

Are you referring to this one? http://www.desidime.com/forums/request-for-coup...
BTW, it’s already in my list above.
Edit: Never mind, this was a couple of months ago. But a similar case, nonetheless.
@DealSeeker No, not that thread. There was another one few days back from a new dimer. Admin may have deleted that thread.
EDIT : Found the thread. Looks like OP deleted the contents of the thread.
Fantastic thread

This is why I have started to quote the original post (atleast the relevant portion) when responding on such threads, where the chances of OP to edit/delete the objectionable content are high. PM me if you want to know how to quickly quote the first post in a thread. Not sure if @admin would be happy about me posting that information openly as it’s a deviation from the designed features.
