Depends on your usage…also search for latest laptop deals in the hot deals section yo might find better or cheaper.

I want a laptop with nice display for mid level gaming and multimedia
Plz suggest some specific models
I am not sure about display of the hp model I mentioned above

SVA stands for Standard Viewing Angle which implies TN (LCD)panel. 99.9% TN panels are absolute crap. They cant even display the full sRGB colour gamut let alone modern ones like Adobe RGB or DCI-P3. Piss-poor contrast and most importantly very poor viewing angles. And its a GLOSSY display. Forget abt viewing anything on the screen if there is any background light source. If you value display quality in the slightest extent get one with IPS/PLS panel or equivalent(VA)
Thanks for the info!
Can u suggest some specific models or brand which offer better display.
I was actually impressed by the specification of the hp model but the display as explained by you is not good.
Any specific model with similar specs and better display not exceeding my budget would be really great.

Sorry for the tag if it disturbs you

Do check it out for yourself if possible. If you are somehow satisfied with the display despite its many probable shortcomings… Most people, seemingly, are not bothered with display quality or atleast not willing to pay a premium. Am sure if they saw a laptop with a better display they will appreciate it even if they dont spring for it. I have mentioned a few above. They are Ultrabooks with the exception of Dell XPS 15. Meaning upgrades are pretty much ruled out(everything will be soldered to the motherboard). Repairs if needed will be expensive.
Edit: The Asus is right at the edge of your budget.

If you value display quality in the slightest extent get one with IPS/PLS panel or equivalent(VA) . To give a few examples Asus Zenbook UX305 and later, Dell XPS 13/15(2015) and later. I wont recommend the Apple Macbook Pro And the Macbook due their exorbitant prices and form-over-function philosophy.
P.S. I dont understand why HP is not providing Gigabit(1Gbps) Ethernet(LAN). My old HP Pavilion laptop from 2008 has it. HP must really be in need of the $5 thus saved.

Bang on! This is what I was saying the other day on some thread but the person snubbed me ’don’t want functions just tell me cheap and best’. That’s what Indian customers want and that’s what they get. Different companies though incorporated some features on their own to distinguish themselves from each other. E.g. The LEnovo I have has a ‘energy management software’ which is the best thing about this laptop. It basically provides an option to charge till 60% of battery and then put on AC power thus saving the battery from early demise. Now, very practical for those who like me are mostly hooked to a desk. Asus has a feature that reduces the ‘blue’ colour on the screen so that your eyes don’t feel strain, it’s screen even though not antiglare but doesn’t reflect light as bad as a glossy screen. Same with Dell, they have most incredible battery life and the screen has minimal reflection, almost feels like an antiglare screen. I remember the first three days I worked on my then new LEnovo’s glossy screen I had tomato red eyes(not exaggerating). But then customers like what is flashy and shines with full brightness like AMOLED screens. So why would they care? HP/Lenovo seem to be hiding their cheap plastics by distracting the customer by that shiny glossy screen deliberately turned to full brightness in showrooms.
Finally the glossy screen died one day and had to replace it with new so I went for Dell’s full anti-glare screen this time, though not ideal colour reproduction or viewing angles but atleast I have eyes.

Cant see graphic card in ur specfication.. graphics card is v v imp , u need a good graphic card not the intel one..if the price is without a good graphic card then it is v v high, buying i5 with a good graphic card is better than buying i7. Without a good graphic card forget gaming, forget graphic intensive application, and u might have problem viewing high quality video

I disagree with you on so many levels :p
graphic card is not very important!!! if you are doing graphic intensive work then buy a desktop and the laptop graphics are mostly not very powerful if you want a laptop with good graphics be ready to shell out more than 80k
and then there comes the heating issue
one more thing
the 7th gen i7’s inbuilt graphics can handle most of the new games on low to med settings
and can manage pre 2014 games on high settings
and it can handle graphics intensive work very well
LAST THING
if you dont know about the particular thing then please stop spreading fake bullshit as it misguides the person better keep your mouth shut

U need to keep ur shit to urself ,its none of ur business wht i suggest to op, for this price , should buy a laptop with graphic card, we r not talking about pc here,if u have weak eye buy specs, its ur problem of u want to play games on medium to low setting
What u r telling is with i7 we dnt need gpu.

Knowing how resourceful you can be I was wondering if you ever experimented with a matte/anti-glare screen protector? I was thinking of buying one but the pickings seems very scarce.

Yes and No, that was my first line of defence against the dreaded monster(glossy screen). The best one and obviously most expensive was from ‘3M’ brand as costly as a new anti-glare screen from Dell so I rather picked the new Dell screen(LG make).

As per dell availing 2 years additional warranty for 1499 is valid only if you buy from dell authorized dealer or retail stores.

I can’t say with confidence but if Dell is offering it as part of the product registering your online will give you the same benefit. Additional warranty can also be purchased later.

If they see Flipkart or Amazon invoice diffenetly they will reject for this offer.

Not sure if anything has changed in the recent additional warranty by DELL. Couple of years back when I tried to claim the additional warranty they told me that it would only cover labour and not cost of parts. Make sure you read the T&Cs so that you are not taken for a ride.

What on earth! I had totally missed that part. Thats a total ripoff. Dell’s spares are pretty costly and not available for very long in contrast to HP where one can easily get spares even for 9 year old models. That too from authorised service centers. And at reasonable prices even compared to used/new! ones on ebay India.
