https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_smile.gif So iphone 7 is finally available for pre order

now before u go ahead and ask ur USA wale MAMA JI to send you one , read this https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_toungueout.gif
Baap re Baap , If you want Jet black color , close this thread right now
https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_toungueout.gif JET BLACK SOLD OUT TILL NOVEMBER
Now coming to the main point ,
which iphone variant should u get
now there are 4 iphone variants
VERIZON , SPRINT , TMOBILE AND AT&T

Earlier we used to buy T MOBILE coz it was fully unlocked
But this time dont buy the tmobile variant
https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_eek.gif
Btw all t-mobile variants have almost 1 month waiting too

Instead buy VERIZON VARIANT
turns out THIS TIME VERIZON IS FULLY UNLOCKED TO WORK WITH GSM/CDMA VS TMOBILE IS ONLY FOR GSM
i know we dont use cdma but still its good to have iphone for all bands and gsm/cdma
Another reason to go for verizon – IT SHIPS ON 16TH SEPTEMBER
Even Black color which as 1 month waiting on tmobile ships on 16th sept which is lovely
so expect it to reach your MAMA ji if u preorder by next day or 2 days\
Yes Jio will work , will confirm once from Apple. https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_toungueout.gif Best of luck

More to add.

Search for relatives/friends travelling from Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire and Oregon as these states do not have sales tax thus helping you save around 7% in sales tax (kind of a median tax rate)

One of the worst places to get is California.

Hunt down for friends/relatives working for Apple. Each person can avail 25% off on a device for once a year and 15% off for a device in each category once a year. Point to note again, the employee portal will be updated with iPhone 7 and 7 Plus a week or so later. Last year 6S plus was updated in employee portal after 2 weeks since pre-order date.

Do note that US purchased iPhones do not have a valid warranty in India yet. Things might change once Apple officially starts direct sales in India which might happen by end of 2017.

If you are contemplating between iPhone 7 and 7 Plus then here goes.
7 Plus has better camera effects
7 Plus has better battery life
7 Plus has better screen resolution
7 Plus is larger, advantage if you like large phones.

OIS was absent in 6/6S but right now 7 as OIS just like the plus models.

Irrespective of shipment times being shown online you always have an option of reserving the phones for in-store pickup. Apple updates it’s site every day at a certain time (not sure when) with local stock status and you can reserve a device in that particular store as per availability. This feature will be available once the sale date begins.

You can place an order using your indian credit card too. Just fill in necessary details. But do keep this in mind, a forex charge of around 2% to 3% will be applicable. Instead ask your US friend/relative to pay for it and then transfer money to their Indian account as they keep sending money to India anyways. Beneficial for both.

Thanks for the addition https://cdn3.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_cool.gif
And yes , within 4-5 days we will see live stock unofficial websites for iPhone 7 for sure , noticing this since last 2 years . Last to last year the live stock tracker saved my a** , my relative was leaving the next day and I used that tracker to check stocks within all reachable stores and finally got the 6 https://cdn3.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_lol.gif
Anyways Still I question mark on LTE bands https://cdn3.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_sad.gif

LTE bands used in india and in US are different. so unlocked LTE won’t have full volte or 4g service.

Nope, they do support each and every Indian band. Up till iPhone 6 few models in US didn’t have support but from 6s onwards they support every Indian band including volte and LTE.

Yup https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_smile.gif

For Verizon and Sprint models in US
FDD-LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30)
TD-LTE (Bands 38, 39, 40, 41)
TD-SCDMA 1900 (F), 2000 (A)
CDMA EV-DO Rev. A (800, 1900, 2100 MHz)
UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz)
GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)

For AT&T and T-Mobile models in US
FDD-LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30)
TD-LTE (Bands 38, 39, 40, 41)
UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz)
GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)

You can get either of them as the only difference is with the CDMA bands which are of no use here in India lately. Also, till last year only the T-mobile version was sold unlocked but this year if you get it at no-contract price all the models are unlocked by default. An official unlocked phone will be sold a month or so later.

Do note that just because you are getting a T-Mobile or an AT&T or other network phone there won’t be any carrier logo or anything, you just get a unactivated sim in the phone which you can just remove and throw it away.
