Reliance Jio Launched…
More details are coming shortly
RelianceJio to offer free services till December 2016.!!!
Tariffs: Have always put customer first. Jio tariffs are built on three principles. 1) customer should play for only one service — voice or data. So all voice calls will be absolutely free.
1 GB for Rs.50.. wow!

Yes, I found this to be a good opportunity and invested in Idea..
Are you sure the pain is over for the telcos? Maybe staggered approach is the best way. Anyway I have stopped tracking telcos with Jio making rounds.
Data is the new ‘oil’ for Reliance
Pain is not over, it is just the beginning.
But the sudden drop was still not called for, they will bounce back, even though not to the same level.
True that, there will be dead cat bounces but not taking any risks here. R2R ratio is too low

Channel Alert
Info: Reliance Jio officially launched. Free for everyone till Dec 31!
Tariff details:
data tariff not cheap as expected… still way better than that of other telco cheaters…
#JiO
Now be prepared to get you data mined by reliance. In India we don’t have an elaborate law for digital privacy and reliance will have a field day building a huge data base and feed us with services.

but where it is mentioned That Rs 50/GB, its 499, and 4gb only, will have to use on night , also, i wanna ask the above tarrif plan is full list or a part.
I never mentioned 50/GB in any of my posts.
Anyway, that rate is indeed announced by Mr. Ambani. I guess it’s for when you cross the plan limits or for pay-as-you-go people.
As for the plan list, it’s complete. They want to keep it simple and so are launching only those specific plans.
With the plans launched by RJio, people can just buy 1 Jio sim for the entire household.
As there are unlimited calls/sms/roaming included in the plans, everyone in the family can have a separate sim and use a Jio sim as a common (landline type) phone for voice and Jio apps.

Do you mean that 3 months preview offer is valid till 31 December ??
@DealSeeker
Existing JPO subscribers will get their free services extended until Dec 31, 2016. And new subscribers will also get free services till Dec 31, 2016.Not yet clear about the details of that other Dec 31, 2017 date. But as per the comments of @FeelMyL0Ve, that 2017 date is for only Jio apps like JioPlay.
Have personally listened AGM Live on JIO Play….
However he mentioned this fact only once

What are you talking about, public Wifi is free alwaysThe Wifi device is likely that Mifi hotspot, the 4/8GB + unlimited 4G at night is for regular smartphones, though I’m not sure how they’ll handle tethering via smartphone
There are separate WiFi towers being setup in multiple places across various cities. you need to login with your Jio number to those hotspots and you will be able to use the data as per the limit, and once you cross the limit, you will be billed 50Rs per 1 GB usage
I already have free JIO wifi in my city operating for the last 8~10 months, I’m not sure what you & Kaliya are suggesting is feasible because public hotpot is just that free for allThis is assuming you meant public hotspots, if not then it’ll only increase the burden on JIO’s balance sheet as they’ll have to install more of these towers
Yes, thats the same Free Jio wifi i am talking about. They are going to tie it with Jio numbers and will be billing as per the tariffs they mentioned in that sheet

Yes, monday onwards.
In 45 minutes of Mukesh Ambani #RelianceAGM
IDEA lost Rs.2,450 crore, Bharti Airtel lost Rs.9,800 crore of market cap.
Now it’s turn for other telecom operator to come out with good offers or go out from India(Vodafone)

Again I don’t see how that’s possible, since they’ve collaborated with local & state governments to create these public wifi hotpots, they can’t simply turn them over for billing. That’s not how it works, same goes for public wifi at railway stations, Google can’t make money of them commercially by charging existing freeloaders.

Well since calls & SMS are free, it means that they’ll be counted against your data balance, after 2016, so it’s not feasible without a good amount of GB’s in your account.

thats too much, free public wifi ?
Even BSNL is planned for wifi in our area, only first 15 minutes free then we have to pay for data as prepaid…
Railway department is also planned to charge but billing is paid by google instead of people.
If anybody sponsor or ready to pay like google doing in railway station means we get free wifi…hope facebook will do as it asking railway department too.

I and many others have explained about this previously. Even though the call uses data tech (Volte) they won’t deduct it from your primary data balance (In plain words, you can use your complete data without any deductions)

Of couse that’s what public wifi is for, though I’ve used it sparingly for a few tens off GB (not hundreds) using RN3 but I haven’t seen throttling ever. Maybe there is a time/download limit but I’ve not crossed it till date, also how can railway charge (public?) for Wifi when Google is paying the bill

I understand your optimism but we’ll have to see how that pans out in the real world. Remember these are the same telcos that charge you for unverified VAS packs, dropped calls & what not
Question: If I buy a flame device will I get the free services till Dec 2k16 or Dec 2k17?

once google stopped paying the bills or google’s target reached means, they wont pay..then railway dont have other option, then they collect fee from people..
Offtopic:
but google wont stop paying bills, as already facebook is keen in getting the railway station, also i am sure google wont pay bills by money instead they will may bandwidth , as they own Bandwidth killer =>> youtube and Play store (daily updates)..still search engine, mail and more……. but youtube is enough to tally all india bandwidth not only railwire or station..lolz

It’s not optimism, this is how VoLTE tech at least works and billed for. You can check US carriers about this for more info and RJIO won’t take any contrary bets either by billing data for your calls. Actually this is how telecom companies will start to operate in the future. Unlimited calls/msgs for a monthly plan and data forming their bulk revenue.
Edit- By the way I agree the existing telcos are all thieves.

Does the same concept apply for apps like JioPlay and JioOnDemand? CC @thrifty_indian @Navneet
P.S. Please say yes so I can also get rid of my DTH connections.
This low a tariff is indeed amazing, however we’ll have to take a closer look at the details, for that is where the devil lies
