I want to know if the Rjio free 3 months preview offer extended to Iphone 6 ? I am waiting for the same since last 3 weeks when it was originally leaked over few online forums. Is there any way to get a Rjio free 3 months preview offer sim for Iphone 6?

But I have to say, the speeds you have mentioned seem quite slow. Here is something I have discovered on my own to improve the speed. Try to use the NetVelocity app from Jio to find the best place to keep the phone in your house. If it ain’t clear, you need to find a place in your house with the best signal strength, i.e. find the place with the lowest RSRP and RSRQ values. Ignore the negative sign for these values, that is out-of-scope for this discussion.
I have found that even minor things like the orientation of the phone in the exact same place make a difference of as much as 10 dB for the RSRP. This is huge! So the location and orientation (relative to where the tower is located) make a big difference in the speed/latency.
By the way, just like I had somewhat of a disappointment the day I purchased the device, seems like it’s your turn now. Reliance has launched Lyf Flame 8 mobiles with the preview offer for 4198 on Flipkart. Flame 8 has better specs than Flame 1. Not only that, they are giving a discount of 420 if you make the purchase with an HDFC credit card. See: http://www.desidime.com/forums/hot-deals-online...
Edit: Before the “orientation optimization” I mentioned above, I was getting around 15 Mbps and now I get around 20 Mbps. RSRP went from -97 dB to -86 dB. I didn’t even the change the location of the phone. It’s still sitting on my computer table at the base of my desktop monitor.
Excellent tip. Will try today.

That Flame 8 news though. It took us by surprise. But then, such is life – filled with twists and turns.
I wasn’t aware of RSRP and RSRQ until you mentioned it.
Now I do use NetVelocity app frequently to see how Jio fares against my old ISP.
Had my doubts about position but never paid much attention.
Here is where it gets interesting though. Because whenever I keep Flame near my desk, like you, it is fair to say the speed is really good.
Right now, I took the phone from downstairs to my room – and download speed is:
The phone was actually downstairs in the morning till afternoon because hotspot range is bad (so perhaps that is why the speed has been considerably lower throughout the day.)
I really want to keep the device with me, on my desk – but others rely on this connection. And in life, filled with twists and turns, sacrifices are very common.
So I can download only when everyone is asleep. At times like this.
Edit: Typed RSRP in Google, saw a couple of apps, and chose NetMonster. This is what it shows (with device on my desk):
My mind is refusing to make sense out of this chart.
EDIT: Accidentally found RSRQ / RSSI on NetVelocity:
Shows 3 green circles – so looking good I presume.
people’s are enjoying the speed of jio. I am not able to manage a sim card for me… please help me to get a sim I don’t have listed eligible phone

Wow! You are getting a better net speed than me even though I have a better cell signal. This means the tower in your area has either got a lot more bandwidth than mine or there are fewer users in your area.

I was surprised it even worked here. But then I realized my area has way too many towers around.
So found an app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=c...
Used it and saw one tower was few hundred meters away. I pointed the phone in that direction…
I am getting 30+ Mbps! (Maybe I am just delusional that pointing-to-tower increases speed…)
However, as I have to keep the device downstairs again, and now I am able to know those green colors are important – I get 9 Mbps. So that’s good.
Can’t believe such small tweaks can create magic.

No, you are not. Welcome to the world of 4G LTE!
This is why I mentioned that even the orientation of the phone in the same place relative to the tower changes the signal quite a lot.
P.S. Forgot to mention that I also used OpenSignal to find the tower and then to orient the phone accordingly.

Sweet. I will try Open Signal tonight. Again, thanks for the tremendous value you add here.

Airtel is losing a lot of revenue, also the expected new customers target in the past few months has decreased a lot (some press info say 43% reduction). Recent 67% cut in tariffs was also just increase of data for the plan amount rather than reduction in prices to protect gross revenue per person. They don’t want to lose more postpaid customers in the future after commercial launch of Jio. As they have observed that with just the soft launch of Jio, they are experiencing loss of business. So they are kindling the fire for a revolution. Let’s see how it pans out.
Also recent stock data report of Idea posted a 36% fall in first-quarter net profit. So all the current telcos are up in arms against Jio.
Everyone is getting 20-70 Mbps speed.. but her i am getting obly 2-5 Mbps speed.. i am from ludhiana,punjab.. i have flame 2.. i tried everything like chnaging network manually, changing Bands via ussd code. And when i had visited Shimla few days bac, my jio wasn’t working in roaming. I was able to make calls but no LTE signals.. What should i do ??

for roaming data issue change Apn protocol & APN roaming protocol to IPv4/IPv6 in access point setting.
I have been to ludhiana few days back and was getting around 30 Mbps speed all around. Change band to Band 40 and check the speed.
Btw where in Ludhiana?

No, NetVelocity is not the same app as JioNet. As for a Play Store link, even I couldn’t find it there. Perhaps it came pre-installed on my Flame 1 phone or it was installed as part of the MyJio apps pack. If you have a Lyf phone, it should be there. If you don’t have a Lyf phone, you can download one of the many live signal strength apps like OpenSignal which will also let you see the live signal strength in decibels as you move the phone around your house. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=c...
thread gng somewhere..i thought they started giving for iphone users..:-}
