But a common man is having atleast 10-12 Rs500 notes in wallet, Right ?
Tomorrow no one will accept these notes and we have to go to Banks/Post offices to swap them, who has that time ?
And even if we will go how much time will be wasted considering a huge rush ?
Even tomorrow is a holiday, I mean who declares bank holiday without any notice ?
I think this is the boldest move made by Modi govt. Would be counted as one of the unprecedented moves ever in Indian history.
I agree common man would face lots of trouble due to this. But this would benefit the whole nation. I hope it would not have been leaked earlier to save politicians illicit wealth.
I am expecting share market to go down and bank stocks will increase daily due to large amount of deposits and less withdrawls i.e. 2k limit per day.

Haha no time to swap even 10-12 500₹ notes? Seems you are busier even than Modi himself.

I believe you are mistaken here, you can’t swap 500 and 1000 tomorrow as you need to deposit them first and withdraw which is a different thing. FYI Banks are closed for public dealing till 10th only e-transfers will work.
Salaried persons will now be even with businessmen in terms of paying tax.
Ho hurray.
This will become a watershed moment in Indian history. This nudges India from a cash based transaction economy into a cashless transaction economy bcoz of the cash withdrawal limits. But, I guess there’ll be an uproar in the next couple of days and the deadline will keep getting extended till the end of next year. It sure is quite difficult to make this transition to a cashless system in less than 2 months.

Not against you Mr. Moderator but getting money back from Swiss banks is outside the power of Indian govt. At least for now. Even USA face problems to get back and they have the highest money share in those banks.

I have seen enough land grabs by the politicians (via proxies, of course) before development projects are announced to trust that statement even one bit. CC @hese

And I thought it was very easy even I had opened a bank a/c as Modi had promised Rs15 laks in each Indian account
Just kidding, I am more worried about the trouble the common man will face.
@Beinghuman wrote:

you are wrong bro
i am not a Modi supporter but i saw alot of black money circulation during the Tn election 3months ago in that time.500rs and 1000rs.
Main thing to understand is people who store back money in cash instead of Land or property etc are gonna be * for sure so to a certain extent it will be definitely worth..
Why haven’t they did this all of a sudden if they informed it before the tax evaders would have made all the necessary stuff evade this too..
Having said that it won’t bring all the black money out since most culprits keep their money in Banks abroad ,Land properties, stock market iphone etc so.
So its a Gutsy move hope it sends the tax evaders a message.
PS its not a earth shattering move as Arnab is saying,if Donald Trump becomes President of USA than it will be for sure

Par Kutta toh nahi hai na ?
Great step no doubt… with improper planning.
11th November is not the rite date for ending the old notes at least as knowing the fact how big India is and How slow work goes in banks and post office.
And whole nation cant change their notes so quickly leaving behind all their jobs.
Many wise will be in trouble for sure.
Ground reality will be completely different.
