SBI --HELP
Hi Guys
Has anybody done online transactions using their SBI DC recently? Everything worked till nov-18 (my last transactions)
Today only when I tried to use DC in FC, I got mobile number not registered for e-commerce transactions So, no OTP is coming.How all of a sudden mobile number got unregistered.I can’t understand if this error is thrown from bank site/Verified By Visa..
As you know,OTP is required in SBI for ALL online transactions.When I called CC,they gave me awesome reply that I should visit my branch & fill up a form to get the mobile number registered again I’m out of state & these people want me to run to the base branch for their mistake No one gives damn why this happened!!! No option of updating mobile number at any branch by giving your ID proof/any ATM..Wonderful.
I want to know
1. If SBI has made any changes/updates to the website recently.Has anyone faced any issues after that?
2. Should we register again & again every year for linking up our mobile numbers (I hope no..but I have little doubt)
3. 2nd level/higher level escalation contacts
4. Any work arounds to get OTP.I remember they recently launched some app to get OTP.Is it really working? Will it again require OTP/device verification? Can this app be installed on non-registered phone?

yes it is working smoothly using since 1 week only one time otp required when registering after that opt is generated in app

@DealLooter Used my SBI DC earlier today to load money to my Paytm wallet. Worked smoothly.
Something is wrong with your account. Try using their new OTP app.
Can U check online sbi profile section ?
Ur number should be there, if yes
U can change ur mobile number without visiting branch.
I’ve no issues with DC/INB .
SBI DID UPGRADE INB. THAT SHOULDN’T BE AFFECT 3D SECURE
I’VE Done transactions before 18th and after 18 using DC

Have you installed this on non-registered number? (I remember we can install/login ICICI app only on registered mobile)

From what I understand, I think OTP APP IS ONLY FOR INTERNET BANKING AND SBI ANYWHERE app transactions.
I haven’t tried that because can’t take the risk of using an app on 1gb ram device when it comes to multitasking in middle of making payments ( ram over flow, time out issue)

you can send a post to you home branch n request them to activate

Few months back when I tried to update my mobile number in profile section, it again asked to visit base branch.So left as it is.
Are you 100% sure that it can be updated there?
Now the bad thing is I don’t remember that profile section password/what secret question I selected I could get the answer if the question is displayed.I can try all questions but don’t want my a/c to be locked after some retries.
@DealLooter SBI is very bad in customer service, no one will respond you via call nor mail…. May be something went wrong in ur account. You have to visit ur Branch for getting this issue resolve .

U have more than one customer no in same bank (ACROSS INDIA)?
As per KYC, no individual should have >1 customer no in the bank, it’s to be cleaned and all account should attached to single no.

New option is there. For that also U need to validate OTP received on old mobile number and new mobile number.
But profile password is forgotten naa..

What about OTP then ?
It may work because now I remember one of my friend faced such issue ( Debit card was the instant one, without name printed)

damn..will not be going home for couple of weeks..now I cannot even use e-wallets too till this issue is solved Most of my wallets are empty
@DealSeeker Looks like withdrawing money & opening a new a/c is better idea.Pls point me to that which bank has best DC thread posted few weeks back.

When this rule is implemented Suppose I have salary a/c in one bank (office)…can’t I open another savings a/c or joint a/c for my personal use in other branch (hometown) at same bank?
Why 2 a/c’s cannot have same registered mobile? I hope you are aware of IMPS where we can use multiple a/c’s-multiple banks linked to single number..then why not this?
Jus like every one can have single pan no, single aadhar no, customer no is unique and should be only one , read the dwfination of deduplication.
Customer no contains KYC and that to be linked for any no of permitted account ( deposit/ loan/ ppf/ locker etc.).
Not commented anything about same no on two places. Read carefully.
The only problem with SBI is the home branch. Even minor changes in your account has to be done at home branch and that too in writing.
But there is no doubt that the safest bank in India is SBI.

Is this app specific to SBI or works for its associate banks like SBT/SBH etc?

Error message your number is not registered with the ecommerce.
I purchased with sbi several times without any hassle but now i am facing an issue…
I think now sbi is also charging for fund transfer from freedom app and anywhere app.
Rs 5.70 per transaction very bad

Looks like SBI is preventing using of its infrastructure by 3rd parties such as e-wallets So no more loading in FC/pockets/payzapp etc This was being done incrementally.This is the same reason why icici netbanking doesn’t work on oxigen too

I’m not that rich May be should try yourself.The above info I shared is never disclosed by bank officials.
