The story of how SNAPDEAL screwed me!

So I ordered a car audio system (Pioneer) from Snapdeal whcih arrived today. Upon opening the box I found a big sticker that read “CAUTION ONLINE SALES – Warranty invalid if bought online”. So I immediately called the SD consumer care – a lazy guy who spoke 10 words a minute picked up the phone and I explained the problem to him slowly and clearly taking time as I got the impression he isn’t very bright. After hearing all that I had to say, he goes “SIr lekin aapko sound system ke saath humne warranty card aur invoice bhi bheja..toh problem kya hai??” At this point my blood was simmering but I hold my cool and tell him that the provided invoice is of no use and that the warranty card isn’t worth a dime as it’s literally INVALID. However this guy (not the sharpest tool in the shed I tell ya) continues with the same story except this time extends it by saying “….unless the product is faulty or damaged, no returns…also warranty is VALID.” Now I wanted to choke this. So I tell this dumbo that NO warranty is NOT VALID as it clearly says so on the box and Yes I will get my damn refund or will take this up legally. Now after all this he asks me confirm with Pioneer service guys if the warranty is really not there and that then he will register a complaint. I tell him that if he doesn’t register and gimme the complaint docket no. NOW, this instant, I will straight up file a case in consumer court. Then he proceed to file a complaint and gives the number saying in 48 hrs I will get a mail..not even a call. I curse at the and tell him to make it a call instead. Man, what a tool!
Shortly after I called the Pioneer guys and they clearly told me NO WARRANTY IF BOUGHT ONLINE. As I suspected.
Stupid SNAPDEAL. Serves me right for buying something worth more than 500 from them. I always had a rule of sorts – Never buy anything worth more than 500 from SD and anything worth more than 150 from Shopclues. A week ago I broke it and today it came back to bite me in the. who ruin customer experience and cheat buyers. .
Snapdeal.

my sympathies, but you must have got an invoice from the seller which does not even mention snapdeal.com anywhere. Its an invoice from the seller, not snapdeal so I think you will get warranty on the product. Just dont ever mention to the concerned service centre guys that your bought this product from snapdeal.
If it comes up that from where you bought this, say bought from this seller locally/directly, i.e., not online
ps: this thread should be in dost & dimers forum
edit: tusharsethi9… is referring to what I said, i suppose

wow…ur comment was really helpful man. It’s not about how to squeeze warranty thru. various means…it’s about the basic principle. OK throw the principles out the window. As a customer why should I spend money on something and then resort to tomfoolery to exercise my right to product warranty – something that should be duly provided? Has that ever crossed your brain?..or were you too busy coming up with you naye khiladi one-liner?…please stay out of the thread if you have nothing constructive to offer.

Nope. It was a computer generated invoice which clearly mentions ‘snapedeal.com’ in the footer, hence the aforementioned headache.
PS : I didn’t get you..I did post it in the dost n dimes section, no?

Oh..ok. My bad then. I thought I posted in d & d.
no one gives a proper offline bill except ebay..
others give bill mainly computer generated which are easily identified by offline stores…
What’s the problem with Computer Generated bills?
90% of the offline stores give Computer generated bills.

The bill in itself wasn’t the problem. The fact that the product’s warranty is void if bought online and the computer generated bill clearly mentions the online retailer’s name on it was.
Even if the site’s name wasn’t mentioned, the service center guys can still find out thru. awb no. etc. if we bought it online That’s what the guy told me outright.
Snapdeal is a pain in the ___ if something goes wrong with our purchase. They have got the worst customer support team out there.
Tangentially noting… I’m a fan of both coldfire’s and tushar’s posts… Feel bad to see them writing against each other here.
@ coldfire101
I’ve always found you as a guy full of wit… I’m sure tushar’s first post was not written to hurt your feelings but rather in a jovial manner on how you could have used the situation to your advantage instead of wasting your time with those suckers… There was no need for you to react in such a manner to that…
Don’t know what else to say…

The Pacifier…
@OP, you want to exercise your warranty/have some feasible solution or a war of words?

Did not try to pacify them… Was just registering my thoughts…
The whole world is at war… Who gives a ____ !
@ColdFire101 I too bought car stereo from snapdeal and simply registered it on sony website without any issues, all the required information was provided in the invoice.
I just gave the seller name and the website automatically populated the sellers details. Try for pioneer website if that works.
@coldfire101 sent you something
check pm
try that.. it will be done as happened in my case..
thanks to rajdesidime for the info

I know the effect of my reaction. I usually don’t mince my words.
The thing is the internet is swamped with people who’re trying to get a comment in sideways and score ‘likes’ based off the coolness/humour of the comment, irrelevant as its content might be. This kind of passive sneering irks me to no end. They totter the line between outright mocking and playful taunting. Neither here nor there. If you want to say something, say it. I can take a dig or two. But this kind of subdued deriding is no good and simply serves to irritate, esp. when trying to fix an annoying problem. Now how would I have to react to his line …saying something like “oh thanks a lot mate..for dropping in on the thread and takin a dig at me…also I really appreciate that you aren’t even addressing me but referring to me in 3rd person to the rest of the community saying someything along the lines of ’ hey look at this noob..must be new to the internetzz…hahahhaaaa ..”
Hahhaha indeed…. I also would be laughing my rear off if not the 4K that I spent on this thing…..
Anyway I know I can sometimes be curt. Hurting anyone wasn’t my intention. If any of you are, I take back my words.
Thanks dimernew for pointing out my (possible) over-reaction.

It isn’t my gun that’s smoking…it wasn’t at first anyway.
Anyway I did admit to some folly in the post above. Thanks for looking.
