Want to Be Happier? Try These Small Changes

https://cdn0.desidime.com/attachments/photos/744174/medium/2044461FuQcCJ2.jpg?1645070919

Happiness is the only true measure of personal success. Making other people happy is the highest expression of success, but it’s almost impossible to make others happy if you’re not happy yourself.

With that in mind, here are nine small changes that you can make to your daily routine that, if you’re like most people, will immediately increase the amount of happiness in your life:

1. Start each day with expectation.

If there’s any big truth about life, it’s that it usually lives up to (or down to) your expectations. Therefore, when you rise from bed, make your first thought: “something wonderful is going to happen today.” Guess what? You’re probably right.

2. Take time to plan and prioritize.

The most common source of stress is the perception that you’ve got too much work to do. Rather than obsess about it, pick one thing that, if you get it done today, will move you closer to your highest goal and purpose in life. Then do that first.

3. Give a gift to everyone you meet.

I’m not talking about a formal, wrapped-up present. Your gift can be your smile, a word of thanks or encouragement, a gesture of politeness, even a friendly nod. And never pass beggars without leaving them something. Peace of mind is worth the spare change.

4. Deflect partisan conversations.

Arguments about politics and religion never have a “right” answer but they definitely get people all riled up over things they can’t control. When such topics surface, bow out by saying something like: “Thinking about that stuff makes my head hurt.”

5. Assume people have good intentions.

Since you can’t read minds, you don’t really know the “why” behind the “what” that people do. Imputing evil motives to other people’s weird behaviors adds extra misery to life, while assuming good intentions leaves you open to reconciliation.

6. Eat high quality food slowly.

Sometimes we can’t avoid scarfing something quick to keep us up and running. Even so, at least once a day try to eat something really delicious, like a small chunk of fine cheese or an imported chocolate. Focus on it; taste it; savor it.

7. Let go of your results.

The big enemy of happiness is worry, which comes from focusing on events that are outside your control. Once you’ve taken action, there’s usually nothing more you can do. Focus on the job at hand rather than some weird fantasy of what might happen.

8. Turn off “background” TV.

Many households leave their TVs on as “background noise” while they’re doing other things. The entire point of broadcast TV is to make you dissatisfied with your life so that you’ll buy more stuff. Why subliminally program yourself to be a mindless consumer?

9. End each day with gratitude.

Just before you go to bed, write down at least one wonderful thing that happened. It might be something as small as a making a child laugh or something as huge as a million dollar deal. Whatever it is, be grateful for that day because it will never come again

Changes To Make If You Really Want To Be Successful

https://i.imgur.com/ZtifOtD.jpg

Nobody wants to be broke or to be struggling financially. Failure is never a decent destination, and thus we all try to avoid it. Yet on the subject of success, it seems you are falling behind and not getting it right even when you feel you are doing everything right. What is that extra factor or determinant that distinguishes the mediocre from the successful? What do you need to change now to improve your chances of success and become the person you have always wanted to be? Perhaps what you need to do is to change your course and set sail on the right channel to success. This is how you start:

1. Develop absolute clarity

It is easy to blame the government, your boss, a poor economy, etc. for keeping you from success. Clarity is important in taking charge of your life and determining your success. Know what you want and be 100 percent clear about it. By doing this, you can clear out all distractions and energy burners that seem to be taking you in the wrong direction.

-———————————————————————
2. Improve your relationships

It is not hard to figure out why certain people are failures – just stare at their circle of influence. If you are around five millionaires, you will be the sixth. If you are around five top athletes, you will be the sixth. If you are around five confident people, you will be the sixth. If you are around five intelligent people, you will be the sixth. Try to be the sixth man by improving your circle of influence. Make sure you draw closer to people that will drive you to success and not away from it.

-——————————————————

3. Stop being busy rather be productive

People live busy lives and think that the more they work, the more successful they will become. They even take pride in the status of being busy. However, it is better for you to rethink the term “busy” or “hard work.” Being busy doesn’t make you more productive. Doing “smart” work is what’s necessary to be successful. Try to rearrange your priorities and either eliminate or delegate those activities that do not propel you to your goals.

-———————————————————————————-

4. Change your attitude

Whether it is towards work or towards challenges and obstacles that you will face, it is important to have the right attitude to meet with what will be presented to you. The right attitude builds your belief system and increases your confidence, character, and energy. People who are unsuccessful show poor attitude and lack charisma. Improve your attitude and you will attract success.

-———————————————————————-

5. Take care of your health

Many do not understand this. They take their mental and physical health for granted. They get less sleep and eat unhealthy meals. To boost your performance and productivity, you have to learn to take care of your health and offer your body what it needs to take you to success.

-——————————————————————-

6. Be organized

This means diligently following a routine and sticking to a schedule. Be organized, plan ahead, and stay consistent on the track to success. There will be many distractions; some can be really flattery and appealing, but success means sticking to what will work for you rather than what works for every other person.

-—————————————————

7. Be passionate

Whatever you are doing must be done right. Strive for excellence rather than sticking to mediocrity. This is why passion is essential to becoming successful. You have to love and enjoy the process as you move on the journey to success. Every successful person is passionate about what they do.

-———————————————————-

8. Act now

The difference between successful people and those who are not successful is that unsuccessful people wait for things to happen. You can’t afford that. You have to dive into the ocean to engage in the swim. There cannot be a more perfect time to start journeying to success than now. Don’t wait. Don’t procrastinate. Go after your dreams.

Stress Management: Don’t Look Back

By Junaid Tahir

If you carefully observe the people who are in stress, you will notice that they keep thinking about a specific event, conversation, failure, brawl or hard luck again and again which has happened to them in past. Such people do not have control on their thinking process hence they allow their brain to keep wandering in the past. While It’s a known fact that bad luck happens to everyone, it’s people’s attitude and the quantum of reaction which defines the degree of stress. Since stress and happiness are vice versa so more stress results in less happiness or in some cases loss of happiness.

While everyone passes through tragic moments in life however you will agree that the more you think about bad things happened in the past, the more magnitude of stress you give birth to. Hence the chains of negativity and stress around your neck need to be broken and thrown away in order to move on with your life.

The fact remains the same that you cannot change the past, neither you can boil the ocean so a wise person would not keep thinking about something which has already happened instead he would learn the lesson from the past and take measures which need to be done in order to prevent such happening in future. A wise man will always focus on the solutions instead of thinking about the problems.

If you are suffering from this issue then here is what I recommend:

Take a pen and list down all the issues bothering you right now. You will, eventually, end up with a very limited number of issues causing depression back and forth. Now the next step is to split these issues into two groups. One group for which you do have some solution and the other group should contain the issues which are out of control. The worries and sorrows from the second group should be shun away. You need to train your brain not to think of something which is beyond control. Divert your focus on the issues for which you can do something. Do it now because this time will also become past and you would be cursing these moments for not taking action at right time.

I get kinda depressed sometimes and whenever I’d feel listless, I’d go through the different Sims health bars (Energy, Hunger, Hygiene, Social, etc) and make sure I was okay in all categories. If I was, then I’d go do something productive and skill-improving like reading a book, working out, playing chess, or practicing guitar.

It might seem super lame but it’s made me better at being a person and I feel less like I’m wasting my life.

Not a lame idea, infact a better time-spent than wasting on thinking something that cannot be undone. But I don’t know how to play Guitar and lame in chess which I will never prefer in any chance https://cdn3.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_sad.gif but other stated points can be implemented. Thanks!

@B@R_0_0_D- VU, nice post. liked it:-)

If we start our day by thanking god that we see a new day becoz of him and at the end of the day we spend just 10min with ourself and check how we spend our day.
Did we make anyone smile or cry today. What good and bad things we do and work on that. What actions we can take at the situations which we cant handle that day and at the end We thank god for the beautiful day then also we can live happily.
Only we can improve our standard of living. Books, meditation will only give direction but we have to run on that path:-)
