It’s happened to me I don’t want this not to repeat to any one, somebody hacked my paytm account and transferred all the money to its account, and paytm don’t have any security measures. check it here.

I have lost 3k and i am able to see lots of same story in paytm facebook page.

NEVER do that! https://cdn0.desidime.com/smileys/dumb.gif

If you have done this mistake with any other accounts, I encourage you to change the passwords ASAP.

Its not just the hackers you need to worry about but paytm itself too. They have an unbelievably incompetent staff on their cc team and it’s a nightmare to get things fixed in case there is an issue. Dont keep/shop for more than what you are willing to loose on paytm. I’ve reduced my wallet balance from about 5k+ on average to under 500 now. That too is mostly cashbacks. Will clean up that too once there is some recharge offer on wallet money.

The first thing that you need to make sure is that always use special characters when you keep a password. It always helps. And the 2nd thing is that you should not share your username or email with any strangers as well openely anywhere. If sometime you need to share it for wallet transfer then keep another account for back-up which can be used for these things. Few days before someone tried to hack my SBI account but then I logged in and increased the no of special characters.

Btw, I strongly believe that having secure password and maintaining the privacy of the same is users responsibility.

Paytm is busy with offering deals with only Cashbacks. Where as hackers are busy with hacking Paytm profiles. Cash Back is the only reason always keep me away from buying from their site. They want us to be use it everywhere, but with out any proper security. It’s just like keeping wallet hanging with a chain. Anyone with id and password can just squeeze our money. I still don’t know the reason why Paytm Withdrew the option to revert money to our Bank accounts.

A very genuine question. You are absolutely correct they should add some security cos currently they don’t have any security.
I think they already working on that and it should be implemented asap.

Never reveal your OTP to any one.
Keep your password as strong as possible.
Stay away from phishing sites.

Paytm is far better than many sites.
Many are using Multiple Accounts on paytm… Some even mentioned 100’s!!

What if they active OTP!?? Very bad right!
so keep tracking your wallet. Have patience and Beware is the only answer.

Yes. Bro..

this is very much required. paytm is like bank. it must have authentication when transferring money… !

even if they add security to transfer money then also if someone hacks anyone account then he can use all the money . It is good to have strong password

I agree OTP is must for fund transfer.Even 2 step authentication like google is best in case of any issue.
For few hacker one should not suffer.

I support full security.

I think, for now we should educate dimers to chnage their PAYTM password(Make it difficult to guess. Seems paytm is not having brute force detection mechanism ), and keep forcing paytm([email protected]) to add OTP for money transfer. Desidime site should flash this message in its Bulletin.

Absolutely, I was one of the very first victims and has been trying to educate people about the same even made a blog but people didn’t listen. Anyway, now I only use PAytm for recharge and for paying on other sites only where Mobikwik is absent. Mobikwik resolves your problem if your present them with proper detail.
