What are some skills that a man should possess irrespective of his field of work ?

First I could think of was soft skills [social skills , communication skills etc.]
Secondly a good physique
Please suggest some areas what a man should work upon for a better career and personal growth .
And what are some skills that every IT professional should be competent in irrespective of his field .
Any inputs from the experienced ones would be appreciated.

the problem with quora is the word limit of the description that can be added to each question.
BTW I have many friends here . I have spent [ wasted] most of my time 6 years + on desidime and I am sure people who know would help me if they can.

I so so want to try business now. Have a normal flight this week. Do they give an upgrade for short trips? (From Bangalore to Mumbai).

Yes, it does happen. But the chances are very less as compared to free upgrades on international trips.
