27 inch and above monitors are expensive in India because of customs duty( ~40%) & poor demand. If there was enough demand for these monitors, prices will come down. ATM, demand is very poor. I was looking for a UHD monitor few months back, there was hardly any monitor available from known brands in India.

If you want to buy a 27 UHD inch monitor, Buy a Korean model from Ebay.com. even after paying customs duty, it will still be under 20k.

19" monitors are around 6-9k that to uhd..
