“Why would I pay for Netflix when I can get everything on torrents?” is a hard question to fed off especially when Netflix isn’t offering all their content in India. But, Pirate-bay and Popcorn Time do. Using the Torrent Time plugin, anyone can stream movies or shows torrent like they would in on Netflix or YouTube.

The Torrent Time plugin has been developed independently but can be implemented by any website. Unlike torrent clients such as BitTorrent or Nutorrent, the plugin for your browser on Mac or PC lets you play the videos in your browser without having to download it. For someone with 128GB of storage but constant access to WIFi, it is a lifesaver.

All you have to do is install Torrent Time, integrate it with Chrome, FIrefox or Safari. Then find the movie or show on Popcorn Time or Piratebay and you’re good to go. On Piratebay, the option to stream the torrent appears right next to the “download torrent” or “get this torrent” link.

Doesn’t Streaming consume the same amount of data as it does for Downloading? I read this somewhere long time ago. So, why not download instead of just stream?

When we stream, we’ll lose more data if we want to watch the same movie or series some other day, isn’t it? https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_confused.gif

There is always a FUP. Also, the speed of download is quite high in recent plans. One movie takes around 10 minutes to download. I don’t mind waiting for 10 minutes. My broadband plan gives 50gb at 30mbps. After that it will reduce to 512kbps. At this speed, streaming takes very long time.

Sorry for my bad enghlish…

I mean, if we compare a ‘2 mbps net connection’ with a ‘15 mbps net connection’ only for browsing is there any huge difference on speed ?

p.s: i don’t download much, so i am not talking about downloading , just speed browsing is enough

Actually i am having a 15mbps plan(airtel), but it costs me very high, so thinking to shift to any 2mbps plan (i.e bsnl )
is it a good idea ?

if downloading is not u priority & just speed browsing is enough.

Then u can move to any other operators.

Check with BSNL if they offer any good plans.
Above 1mbps speed would be sufficient for normal use.

bro bsnl is giving 2 mbps plan but condition is that after 20 gb its speed will reduce to 1mbps or 516 kbps instead get connection from private company which provides unlimited 2 mbps usage
Currently i am using unlimited 2mbps plan from speed online at 800/- per month
