Yes they charge. It will be more than this 1%.
This is how all Govt Services Works.
If PAytm and other wallet services starts working like then we will end up paying extra charges on loading money to wallet etc.
Like IRCTC Rupay Card from UBI.
When u pay by credit cards, you will charged extra as convenience charges which will be more than this 1%

I am not sure how much they charge as convenience fees. But it is good deal for those who want to go for CC payment for insurance installment.
Pay your installments when Udio offers are running for card transaction
Add those money to Jiomoney wallet via card transaction and you will get cash back in Udio wallet.
Use jiomoney wallet amount for Lic premium payments on Lic site as Lic has jiomoney payment option without any extra charges.
I have paid my last month lic premium of rs 4000 and get cash back of rs 200 in Udio wallet

Register lic with smartpay of hdfc and no charges need to paid extra. Plus u get 5%cb for adding smartpay accounts
