I would love to buy such products. I fully understand the benefits of LED bulbs.

However, there is a gap between requirement and products. We use bulbs for light. Light is measured in lumens. We all started with tube lights. They generally come as 40 Watts products and produce 2450 Lumnes. Then came CFLs. They produces similar Lumens with roughly 25 Watt. To generate same amount of Lumnes, Philips LED use 20 Watts.

While a 23w+ CFL costs between 300 to 500, a similar lunes producing LED costs 1000+. Because of the high cost I dont even see many companies even manufacturing 12w+ LEDs. A simple search on net shows that only Philips is making them. Even Syska which is a listed company in this space and now-a-days more prominent on TV, doesn’t manufacture 2000 Lumens producing bulbs.

Most of the online LED bulbs do not even specify how much Lumnes they generate. The product on the current thread is no exception.

I think, it will take a long for pocket friendly proper light producing LED bulbs. Dimers, let the market be mature before we take plunge.

Thanks for sharing the details.

When CFLs were at initial stage 18-19 yrs back…i remember CFLs being sold at rs. 400-500, with very less life span. Likes of philips and Havells are offering the LEDs at huge prices.

The product in current threads are quite affordable as per products being offered currently by others.

We all know that the light quality of Tubelight could never be replaced by CFLs, but LEDs offer better lighting experience than CFLs.
