Few Suggestion from our Dimer (myliferockkss)
there are things which needs to be taken into consideration before you make a purchase on Aliexpress
1) most imp… check seller ratings
2) check seller feedbacks
3) Check the shipping method (avoid Seller’s shipping method)
If you dont receive your product or if it is damaged by any means then make sure you raise a dispute before the purchase protection ends…
Aliexpress offers the best purchase protection and there is no match to the wide variety of product categories offered….
About the customs and stuff…it depends on many factors like value quoted by the seller, type of product, Shipping method and also LUCK
For mobiles and other high price stuff it is purely luck… sometimes u will be charged customs or it will be missed…
For low cost products like below 50$ u probably wont be charged any customs

It’s certainly not for everyone. It takes 15-30 days to deliver and sometimes it gets lost in transit. Same with ebay.com. Last month I ordered 3 itmes frm ebay.com and 2 never reached and 4 from ALiexpress of which 3 reached. One must know how to deal with international free shipping items.

true that
Does ebay.com offer purchase protection like AE?
Definitely eBay don’t , but ae is good in that… AE is reliable but takes time for goods to ship, u can also negotiate with some sellers to quote less amount on package for customs charge reduction
I myself have bought around 10-12 items from aliexpress.mostly cheap items.and they always got delivered.it usualy depends upon the local post ofice.sometyms post mans will keep your stuff and never deliver.its not seller’s fault.
M still waiting for an item (560inr price) to be delivered.as per tracking it has reached india, lets see when it gets delivered.so far i have had positive experience with aliexpress.

Yes, I have availed refund for the 2 items.
Good offer but do take precautions and be ready for lengthy delay after purchasing. Am always in favor of buying from AliExpress but Past two experiences has made me skeptic.
For cheap items, its generally lengthy delays. My policy is to buy and forget but it eventually arrives, sometimes in 10 days and sometimes near 60 days. I don’t ever check status EVER. The Ali mail about buyer protection is the reminder about the said purchase.
On the other hand, have had very stressful experience with expensive items. I generally buy expensive items (more than $200) with DHL/FedEx shipping and only 50% times, have i had good experience (Bought more than 10 times).
Most of the times, it gets stuck at customs but now am having a VERY bad experience with Ali. I bought a phone worth $500 and it has been 12 days but no update in shipping status. Have tried canceling the order thrice but every time Ali has backed seller saying order is in stock and will be shipped at the earliest. I think Ali is also going eBay way with backing experienced seller as the seller of phone is the most experienced and has 99% rating and I am stuck with no way out. So be careful about buying!

128gb version with DHL shipping..
And this is the reply from AliExpress
Guys one more important tip, check the speed at which seller ships…and try and order with seller who has more orders even if its not the cheapest on site. Those sellers provide better service.
Another important point on customs, try and avoid ordering expensive gadgets. As customs may come into picture. But things around 3-5k is normally no problems and gets cleared without any hassles. I have recently ordered fitness band and got it delivered in 10 days in Mumbai.
Remember average time is anywhere between 15-25 days minimum. Do not expect delivery before that. Lucky if you got it…
Also now most shipping you are able to track end to end…so that’s another positive…
Aliexpress is for looters basically.
Cheap product, but you need to patiently wait for your order.
Like a looter, investigate into seller before ordering
Know about any virtual wallet working with Ali express . I have Rupay International DC ( at-least that’s what written on it ) from UBI but I don’t think it’s going to work for international payment.

Adding further. You have to be really patient when ordering with AliExpress… As many users mentioned it gets lost in transit.
- The 2 major point of this loss is at customs & at India Post after custom clearance…
- Avoid ordering expensive stuff & electronics. They attract customs duty unlike cheaper products which miss customs most of the time..
- There are official direct stores of many companies which sell at cheap prices & quality is good. Better stick to them or order from reliable feedback sellers with good order count history & feedback… Order count is available on each listing so watch-out for it..
- Another thing to look for is feedback from Indian buyers. AliExpress lists the buyer country so its easy to check it out as to how many people did received the product eventually.. . It shows that the seller is genuine & did sent the product in the first place.
- Insist on fully tracked shipping methods. Try to get China Post Registered Air Mail as the shipping method since its cheapest & comes with full tracking to India till its delivered. But keep in mind that its not the fastest & in many cases you will have to pay for it extra… Use DHL or Fedex for faster delivery but they charge more..
- Use this site to track your packages.
https://packagerada...m/
It gives one stop tracking for numerous couriers used to ship products to India & other country. BUT keep in mind most Chinese courier including China Post Ordinary mail can only be tacked till its in China. Only if its China Post Registered Air Mail you will get full tracking, same with FedEx, DHL & other Registered Air Mail.. - Many sellers would give you fake tracking no. even if you choose tracked shipment. It means they used ordinary mail for shipment with no tracking, or never shipped the product in the first place…. If you are fine with it then wait it out else raise dispute after confirming with seller since you may not get the product.
- The fastest I got for non tracked product sent with ordinary mail was 19 days & for registered Air mail (Tracked) was 23 days.
- The slowest order delivery was in 58 days for non tracked & 2.5 months for tracked shipment (this shipment was wrongly sent to Brazil first)….
- 99% of my tracked shipment arrived successfully sent by China Post Registered Air Mail. Compare this to ~60-70 % of my non-tracked shipment arrived… For lost shipment I got refunds with even cross currency mark-up refunded by credit card company…
