Please do not buy new stuff during ‘Pitra paksha’ or ‘Shradha period’ which is considered as inauspicious per old believes. It will end tomorrow (23/09/2014).

I know my views would attract criticism by new gen guys but I just wanted to share it with all.

i think there is nothing wrong in this.
he is just sharing his view. hes not stopping anyone, just advising.
most people (like me) dont even know these things, but would like to follow if brought to notice.

I second that and completely agree with @thelion as this is not a religious fourm or a platform for such discussions. Let’s keep to topic and talk about only the deal in question and help other dimers make the best informed decisions based on monetary savings and specific product information. That being said thank you for your input and being a part of this vibrant community.

For many non belivers, this kind of advice, which simply has no logic but is a matter of faith, will make him an object of riducule and create unnecessary controversy. It may be good for people who believe in it, but then everybody is not a believer. This kind of post is superflous, and if you are still interested, post in dost and dime section where you can have a hearty chat without forcing others to go through it.

there is nothing wrong in what anand said .. if we say some day as auspicious like dhanteras . I hope we all know it that on that day we buy something new as its auspicious.. if anand is telling or i should say is just sharing his view . he is totally right in it. If we can believe in dhanters than many are there who may believe something as inauspicious.He is just making us aware of thing which we might not even know like “Shradha” . Its not about believing its just the truth. Take is as you want .
And if that doesnt suits you move on dont create a mess just ignore it and stay happy..:-}

Right advice in the WRONG PLACE, that too without proper explanation. One small “Pricing Error” is enough to forget your advice here……….ha………ha………haa……..

According to me there are no two groups ( Believers & Nonbelivers ). Only BELIEVERS are there. The so called Nonbelievers were not properly explained the in-depth facts.

As per our Sanathana Dharma, the priority goes like this. Matha – Pitha – Guru ( Guru is not a simple Teacher but more than that) and finally Deyvam or God. Our ancestors segregated certain period for certain things.

As you quoted, “‘Pitra paksha’ or ‘Shradha period’” is meant for our Parents and ancestors. So the top priority goes to this section. Again it is a matter of showing our gratitude or thankfulness to those persons, just to avoid a guiltiness within us. So we are performing it only for our well being.

There is nothing called, “inauspicious” !!! Do we treat a New Born in this period as Inauspicious ?!! NEVER !!! Every day is AUSPICIOUS provided we use the day correctly. Just my 2 cents.
