Good lens for someone who carries a tripod always, a big camera bag & extra lights.
Also I guess it has to be manually set.

seriously ……………. u carry 500mm hand held … even I cannot carry my 300mm for not more than few minutes.
jokes apart, good at this price, no use of VR / IS coz heavy lenses like these are always mounted on tripod, not 100% but have seen some people using B-GRIP for it.

yes, I do realize about the VR, but @ 10k what do u expect, 500mm & VR, both ?
Does it have fix zoom?
Or 100-500mm etc.
