Was 30% earlier. Even with the 50% cashback, the Plaza Premium lounges are expensive. Moreover, you can often strike a better deal by simply asking the reception people. https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_wink.gif

I was once able to get a private room with food and all for 4 hours for only 1000 bucks at the Delhi airport.

@cybertechie You try these guys recently? Anything you’d like to add?

How does it work? Shouldn’t we adhere to the fee described outside the lounge? I envy those “card” people (learned recently) who can get lounge access for under 10 bucks. I saw Ola subscription, which offers lounge access, so I am inclined to give it a shot… as I feel getting a card for the sake of lounge access is… umm… waste?

Your thoughts?

EDIT: So I called Ola. The service is called Ola Select. And there is no restriction whatsoever. One can enter or exit airport lounges as many times as required (2 hours max, of course): https://help.olacabs.com/support/dreport/209...85

Sounds like a real sweet deal. Next month I will subscribe, unless I see the benefit of “card” or get more opinion on what’s best.

Yes, tried the Plaza premium lounge in Bangalore couple of months back. I was very disappointed. Breakfast spread was poor and the washrooms fittings were messed up. Only saving grace was the decent lounge sofa’s.

I have been to Plaza premium lounge in T3 Airport, Delhi multiple times. It’s an excellent lounge with good food.

Get lounge access free with all signature cards, hdfc regalia, axis priority debit card. All lounges are worthy of free/complimentary access only, not for paid access. Never seen anybody paying at the counter for access.

Plaza Premium inside T3 (after security check) is superb, bro. But I was talking about the Plaza Premium located outside the domestic departures gates at T3 (lower level). That one also has private nap rooms (paid) and the lounge access is allowed only for Priority Pass members.

@sidbhai It works the same way all over the world. https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_toungueout.gif Basically, you tell the receptionist that access to the common facilities is okay, but you really want to catch some z’s and ask him/her if you can get a private room at a lower price. https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_wink.gif

As for you other points, no, it’s not a bad idea to get a credit/debit card simply for lounge access even if you travel only 5-6 times a year. Needless to say, it’s a must for every frequent traveler. You might want to open a zero-balance account with IDFC. They are (were?) giving a signature card (with free lounge access) for a limited time. See: http://www.desidime.com/forums/dost-and-dimes/t... CC @disclaimer @A2Zdeals

Bro, i have a card that gives me access to premium plaza lounge. Is the food there included in the access or is it charged extra?

Any lounge access, whether free via card program or paid, includes the food. After all, the whole point of the airport lounges is to provide a comfortable place to sit and food (sometimes only beverages and light snacks). Moreover, I have not encountered a lounge in India or abroad which charges for the food separately.

By the way, you didn’t mention your card. Keep in mind that not all cards come with completely free lounge access, some offer only reduced charges and you still have to pay a certain amount. Do check on your card’s website to confirm before you travel. https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_smile.gif

@disclaimer Thanks for the confirmation that the IDFC signature card offer is still running. https://cdn0.desidime.com/smileys/EEvuH.gif

ICICI amex card offers lounge access to supplementary card holders as well. Max 8/10/unlimited visits per year based on card variant.

Can we access these lounges after getting off from a flight. Once I returned from an international flight at T3 at 2 in the morning and got off the terminal where there were all these lounges, the premium plaza at ground level said they do not allow card based programs and suggested I should go to the plaza lounge at third floor but the CISF security denied entry stating these lounges are only allowed while going to board a flight.

Yes, there is indeed a lounge for international arrivals (located outside the terminal building, opp. exit gate number 6) and entry is free only for Priority Pass members AFAIK. I think you ended up at the paid lounge I referred to above. Seems like the CISF guy mentioned the lounge located at international departures. But you can’t blame him for the confusion, there are like 5-6 Plaza Premium lounges in Delhi.
