Its easy to say to use CM but its hard to use when there are no kernel sources of Mi Pad or Mi3 or Mi4. Xiaomi promised kernel sources of 1-2 years old Mi3 last year and its getting extended every 3 months. Now, they said Mi3 kernel sources will be released before March 2015.

Without kernel sources, you know you will get no stable roms.

PS: There are none CM roms for this tablet as of now.

We r talking Tegra K1 here. I don’t see any tablet in this budget with such good specs.

I want a 12"(for eComics!) or bigger tablet(ideally 13.9"for reading US PDFs) with atleast 4GB RAM and min. Core M class perf. and an excellent display. Only the SP 3 satisfies these but pricing in India is heinous.Dont mind the added bulk as I dont hv chicken wings for arms!

A5 chipset comes nowehere to this beast ! As far as apps are concerned there are tons of gorgeous tablet specific apps in Android on par with iOS . And with a tablet you definitely need an external storage due to content specific needs . This has 128 GB extendable capabilities ! iPad mini 163 ppi display this has a gorgeous 326 ppi display .16 GB iPad mini is not sufficient for me .
Besides in terms of graphical capabilities this is way way above what iPad mini can do ! You cannot even compare both of them the gulf is so huge !

So if its only the aesthetics you are looking for iPad mini will definitely rank above this !

Anyways each person has his own choice !

An apple chipset can easily overtake another chipset with more than double the speed. on paper, apple will be the slowest of all devices as has always been the case but what matters is the real world performance. Although with the gen gap, I agree that the Mi tablet will be faster.

Yes aesthetics will be better in the iPad but it isn’t the only factor. Plus, the quality of materials used in an apple device will be 10 times better than a Xiaomi. And what is more important than the UI of a device? iOS wins here with its brilliantly user friendly and quality UI.

Graphically MiPad maybe better but the iPad mini is no slouch and can turn on the visual charm that only an apple device can provide. Storage is the only limiting factor which can be an issue.

Everyone has their own choice when it comes to mobile OS, for me I love both. Enjoying my iPad Air, iPad mini and ordered Mi Pad.

I can see where you are coming from but I beg to differ. I recently bought Mi Piston earphones and I was really really impressed by the quality and the value for money. It’s better than my Soundmagic E10 earphones, costing 2K!! I can tell you first hand that these guys are not just another company. They blatantly copy apple no doubt but they are copying with style. Android used to be pretty far from iOS no doubt but the gap has lessened quite a bit. In some ways Android is better and vice versa. The ideologies of these companies are completely different.. But when the value for money is so high, I was compelled to make the purchase. Hats off to Xiomi for having come this far in such a short time

Damn missed the giftxoxo and payumoney saw the poost in desidime too late:-{ .Well seen the conversation above with this tab many complaining it’s not worth it but it houses a Tegra K 1 and 192 Kepler Gpu and awesome resolution and PPI same as the Ipad mini 3:-P .Where as the bugs are concerned most have been addressed in MIUI 6 update and much more to come;-} .This is a beast for gaming and reading no one can complain on that.Only cons are no sim functionality and Android 5.0 people buy mi pphones for it’s UI and specs not for a stock android so If you only use it with WIFI anyone can blindly purchase it for the Price and specs it Offers and a big Plus for it’s Expandable storage 128 GB sounds striking which no other kanjoos brands offer:evil: You can always setup a WIFI hotspot from other mobile and use It If you use it out of home:oops: .That’s where Xiaomi puts everyone to shame:lol: .Also it packs nice camera’s and 8 and 5 mp shooter with BSI sensor.As If you don’t want to value money to specs and give a high recognition to BRAND name mi is not a small brand It’s top in china and 4th in India and makes awesome products for best price.If you give a a big nod to BRAND value the you can choose Nexus 7C or Ipad mini 3 For a much higher price .Many International review sites gave a good review for this tab and Note Pro that was launched this year was editor’s choice for most geek and tech blog’s.But the choice is always with buyer’s depends on the way how they see it and what need’s they want from a tab.You should check out the mipad benchmarks it is not a slouch.
