I don’t understand when/where the promo code should be entered.

I have logged in, added a product and it’s taking me to PayPal page where I can pay the amount in the merchant site + $1 towards the fees for having these guys pay on my behalf. I am not sure what happens after I pay via PayPal.

Who will take care of those?? and we have to pay the duties, how to pay them??

I think this is how it works.
you first order through them. They get it delivered to their address in USA.
Then they email you for shipping to yours.
then you enter the promo code and they ship based on the weight to your address in India.

Correct me if i’m wrong anyone.

this 1$ is for verifiying your card, this is a one time process and will be refunded in ur next statement.
paypal is its ebay.com’s money transfer system, and is secure.

sirji, dont go for blackberry even if its 100$..go for nexus instead.

Any laptop shipped will be more than the free 1kg and these guys will rip you on the shipping. This site doesn’t have a good review. Google ‘hopshopgo review’.

If you order $299 laptop then here are the approximate calculation. Assuming free shipping on US side & weight as 8 pounds

Shipping – Rs 2400 to 2500
Custom Duties- 19-20% of laptop cost = 3300 (They may use rate 57 Rs/ Dollar)

So approximate cost of laptop -Rs 22800 to 23500

Ive ordered two phones till now from ebay.com via Aramex shopandship and they cleared the customs etc on my behalf! Ims ure they know the procedures and how to go about it rather than us being forced to handle customs ourselves.

For Electronics anything more than 150-200$ and these custom guys here will rip you off. I bought a laptop for around 1000$ and asked the seller to change the invoice value to 300$. He did it. And, since before also I bought a 350$ Camera which they charged me around 3.5k import but after including that also I was saving 6k. So, I went through it. But, when the Laptop reached India,Fedex guys called me and said that the Import duty was 10k and so I have to go to their office and release it. On listening 10k I was like wtf. And, then I came to know that these custom guys can ask for any random amount. Depends on their mood.
So, I would not recommend this to anyone. Yeah less than 150$ value,you can always go for this option.
