Lactometer : Measure The Amount Of Water In The Milk You Drink !
A Lactometer is used to find out the amount of water in the milk that you are drinking.It works on the principle of specific gravity of milk.
It consists of a TEST-TUBE and a METER BULB.
Using this instrument is very simple. Put some milk in the test-tube. Dip the meter bulb in it, the bulb going in first.
You will notice that the meter bulb floats. The reading on the meter indicates how pure/impure your milk is.
The deeper the bulb sinks, the more dilute/impure the milk. If the reading is at the red mark, it shows that the milk is very rich and pure.
With this Lactometer, now you can never be in doubt ! If your expensive Doodhwala says that the milk is pure and you feel otherwise, simply take out your Lactometer and prove him wrong…it will all be crystal clear !

shipping kills deal
I have kids at home so will buy it even if shipping kills the deal.
Some stuff are hard to find especially this latometer so can safely ignore the shipping cost.
The product will last for decades.

This will help for preliminary inspection
but to check adulterated you need to buy few chemical available even with chemists. Ceck the FDA website to how to test the milk sample.
You don’t need to do all that… call the number behind the milk packet. Senior staff from the dairy will come to your house to inspect the package and take samples if they find it fishy.
The way to use this apparatus is
buy 1/2 ltr milk 2 to 3 packets from the local shop of different brands. Then check their purity / Specific gravity / water contents and then decide whether to switch the milk brand coming home. its best to do it once in 6 months if you have this apparatus
There are 2 kinds of milk. pasteurized which is pure milk which is treated and delivered and toned milk which is actually milk powder (powder made from surplus and cheaper milk during winter) delivered in summer by mixed with water, stirred and packed.
