Does this require a far Internet connection? Especially to stream stored content?

Guys, get ps3media server downloaded for free instead. Its excellent for streaming media and works with all DLNA standard devices. Save this money for better purpose.

How is this different from Teewe 1?

TEEWEE is for converting non-smart TV’s to Smart TV, to stream, play youtube and other videos as well using chrome plugin.

but I prefer Google chromecast .

Wish it had support for decoding HEVC/x265 content (unfortunately, the processor used in this is bit old for that to happen)

Sorry for late reply, Google Chromecast plugin are directly integrated into apps like youtube, yupp tv etc. that means you can directly cast from the app itself. The supported app list is increasing day by day. Link: https://www.google.co.in/chrome/devices/chromec...

Whereas TEEWEE is purely depended on its own app i.e, Teewee app, you can only stream from their app and not directly from other apps. Moreover their app is not that good, when you are streaming a video & if your phone goes into sleep and after some time the app becomes unresponsive.

The only advantage the Teewee dongle offers is price difference.
