most of these movies only had digital print releases, so a vcd format [mostly downscaled] quality isn’t exactly collectors IMO.

it is not necessary that buying ‘always’ helps Production houses/ original marketeer. For instance in this case, the world rights might already have been purchased by someone else or for India directly by Excel[or ADAG/ Sony India].

These are basically resellers of the product under-licensee and the original franchisee holder has already recouped their money with profits.

@Karen .. can you site any specific instances for these products please?? I do watch TV series “Nukkad” officially uploaded by Shemaroo , but those things are donkeys years old. also, unless one has those free or subsidised accounts of netflix type Indian sites; what else can one do if wants to legally own content?
