Did not like this method of Uber cabs at all…To take credit card details first hand…Dangerous… very dangerous…They will start looting left, right and center…

be aware of uber , they will debit from ur credit card only, no use of any credits in ur uber account, ola is way better

pls beware, uber charges your credit card even though you have applied a valid promo. and first they dont respond to emails, if they do, then they have a standard reply- that your account was autoflagged for using their credits/referral program inappropriately.

Feedback from experience(4 Uber black rides & 2 Uber-X rides in Gurgaon & Bangalore) -
1)Uber uses credit before charging any cards
2)Its very very safe – customer feedback gets personalized response which is collected after every ride

I agree the interface & CC charging gives creeps to begin with but its best & most economical overall. The rumor are also fueled by their competitors who have been looting the end consumers for years!

The customer service is so awesome that once when they weren’t able to provide me a cab (since its like a real-time booking thing & they are yet to grow in fleet size)they gave a 300INR credit just for the inconvenience.

Yeah, I agree. I have been using them for a while as well and it has always been an amazing experience.

yes you are right in all this until you have problem, they also issued me 300 rs once with 1 week validity which io was not able take. that is my case.

but last booking on 24th, has blown my trust towards uber.

I have booked a uberx on wednesday 24th from terminal 1 new delhi airport at 9:45 PM. I was allotted swift dzire DLIYD3211, driver rajendra. He called me and asked where the drop will be. I told him dwarka to which he said it will take more than 5 mins as there is a traffic jam. I said ok, take your time. After I came out of airport, I gave him call, but to my surprise his number was not reachable. I waited for him to call back and tried his number atleast 20 times but he was not reachable and nowhere to be seen. I waited for 35 mins in heat on road waiting like a fool hoping that this guy would show up and may be his phone is having problem but he never showed up. After that I got a message that my credit card has been charged by uber.
He has dared not to pick me up but also charged my card for which I was never been picked up. Now I am seeing in trip details on uber website that I have been picked from somewhere in gurgaon and dropped at same place which is surprise as I have requested for a cab at airport. screenshot attached. uber is not even checking what the drivers are doing. There is no instant support from uber in case of emergency like this. At least there has to be emergency number available where a customer can call in situation like this. This is not at all acceptable from uber and I may have to think ten times before booking an uber next time. I will not forget the shocking, unacceptable behavior from an uber driver.
I request you to look into the matter and suspend this driver ASAP. Also, I demand a personal apology and refund of charged amount with an appropriate compensation for wasting my time, dreadful waiting for 35 mins on road and fraudulently charging my card

there was no reply for 4 days on this, then blasting them on twitter with other customers, they replied back this

Since the driver makes a commitment to you when he accepts your request, after the five minute wait we charge a cancellation fee to fairly compensate the driver for the time and cost. Nonetheless, I understand there may have been some trouble connecting with your driver here, so the cancellation fee has been refunded this one time. You should see the refund back in your account within 1-3 business days.

and after that there is no reply. when i asked for an investigation in this. i have also given them screenshots where i booked and at what spot driver has charged me. see for yourself as well.

The driver charged me for some place in gurgaon as per my trip details on their site

Even after giving this proof they have not accepted the drivers fault and haven’t taken action against him. they have not even replied to it properly. what will you do when some mishap occurs in night, where would you go. so choose wisely friends.
this kind of thing will only encourage driver to repeat this in future, mere refunding the amount charged is not the solution
