i was also planning this 25OCT but that people is saying no to me… as they dont know how to clear custom … but actually no one cares it if one person buy one iphone… it will cost you $749 + $50 taxes so total it will be above $800…
what is this 50$ tax? can u specify?
Sales tax varies between 0% and 9.5% in US depending on the state to which the phone is being shipped to. Montana, New Hampshire, Delaware, Oregon and Alaska have 0% sales tax.
It also depends on the merchant too
Some are sold as tax free to almost all locations of US
True that, but I don’t know any merchant apart from eBay which does that.
What about bestbuy on ebay?
They levy tax too?
Chk this ,iphone to-be-owners

PayTM says to go to a mobile store on 16th. They will give 2.5k CB if bought using ICICI cards.
Snapdeal has promised to send a payment option on 13th
Amazon says they will take 4-6 days to deliver after 16th, they will give some vodafone freebies for postpaid users.
Ezoneonline is profitable since they will give some deals worth 8k (Monthly cash to be redeemed in their stores)
iBhejo.com looks like just collecting emails..
Croma , due to some unknown custom restrictions doesn’t gets access to Bengal (my state
Do let me know if I am missing anywhere (Not the physical stores)?
And somehow the infibeam restriction on applying coupons on Iphone 6s seems to say that Flipkart / Amazon will have restrictions too
I got 5 croma gift card in yesterday’s deal Rs. 15000 for rs. 20000. But as expected the order was cancelled by amazon so that’s gone.
Now the best I could find is Big Bazaar coupons at 10% cash back on paytm. So get enough of them if you have patience. Again, it says max cash back 1500 and I am not sure if it’s per transaction or overall.
Then even the big bazaar guys should have the patience to scan code on all the gift cards you give them a the time of purchase

Hyderabad airport is much safer man. Not many people to monitor and even if they catch you it’s easy to evade taxes, all they expect is around $30 to $40 and they will leave you.

Lol who told you this? I have backup iPhone 5 which is about to get 3 years old and it’s still working fine. Apple warranty is also different than all other manufactures. They replace your phone for any defect within 2-3 days. They don’t repair here.
Indian iPhone only last 4-5 months? Haha seriously thats the best comment about Apple here.
Anyone who is wondering what would be the custom if you buy iPhone from US it’s 14% plus some taxes which in total cost you 17% of the iPhone cost. It’s still cheap if you buy it from US but remember that iPhone will not be covered under warranty. Except iPhone, any Apple device like iPod, iPad, accessories carry world wide warranty.
Now Paytm has joined

Nope it’s working fine. My friend already bought it from US the day it was launched there. He paid around 15k customs and Airtel 4G is working fine. I think this time there are no two models like we had with iPhone 6 so it’s truly a global phone. All 4G bands are included.

iPhone 6 t-mobile no contract didn’t support Indian LTE bands but both models of iPhone 6S, including the t-mobile no contract phone, supports Indian LTE bands this time. This is confirmed from users using the iPhone 6S in India and on Apple site LTE band list too.

Yeah that’s why I said lucky call by him by ordering 6S instead of +. He saved some money by ordering it from there but I think that’s not worth the hassle since it wont be covered in warranty.
I always extend the Apple care for 2 years by paying around 4k. This helps when you sell the iPhone you get very good resale value since the buyer is not worried about non-warranty.
Your opinion?

yes., i always buy from Indian market .. Don’t want to waste money (If something happens) ..
However you can send item back to relative/friend (If any) but it will be big hassle to send item back. .
Also , I have never seen anything happening to iPhone in normal scenario..
I have used 5s earlier from Australian market and nothing happened …
Last year i have already sold One kidney to buy iphone 6 Plus..
Now i can’t sell second one this year (no redundancy) …

The Indian version of iPhone 6S Plus 128gb is 37% expensive than in US so yes, it isn’t a bad deal to let go of Indian warranty when the price difference is that high. I anyways have people frequently visiting the US so won’t be a hassle to send the phone in case there is an issue. Sad part, didnt want to risk the purchase so had to go for AppleCare+ too costing extra 138$ including taxes.
