My wife is using nexus 4. That’s really very cool device.perfect screen with perfect size n excellent looks and probably best hardware of its times.
But still s3 is best selling smartphone . N there are many reasons for this
1 easy Availability
2 brand name n brand value
3 past series success
4 pioneer in some of the features
5 last but not the least memory card support

yeahh personally to me s3 dont look like the phone worth the price.crappy design..yeahh though i support every phone should have expandable memory and s3 have one.Else brand name,value etc are just the perceptions.why they restrict user experience by inexpandable memory..i dont know.Also u saying pioneers in some features.what features?
