Sorry for keeping the post here but there is a need for it

News pours in with updated casualties, monuments representing a rich historical and cultural heritage destroyed. The loss in Nepal and surrounding regions in India has left people homeless and devastated. Feeling helpless against such forces of nature is understandable.

As true as that sentiment may be, it’s all the more important for us to come together as a community and make a positive difference.

We’re making it easy for you to contribute. At its core, Uber is a logistics platform. Using it to make it easier for more people to join in this massive relief effort is our tiny contribution to the people affected by this calamity.
GET INVOLVED

Uber is connecting your donations directly to Prime Minister’s Relief Fund across 11 Indian cities in an effort to help raise funds. You can contribute ₹10 right through the Uber app the next you take a ride.

ENTER THE CODE

HELPNEPAL

TO DONATE ₹10 ON YOUR NEXT RIDE

Nice initiative.

I appreciate the initiative but they’re actually trying to make more money in the name of collecting donation. I would love to donate my contribution for helping the people in Nepal but why take a ride in Uber for that? They should allow people to make contributions without taking a ride.

bhai uber doesnt care about your 10 rs ..infact uber will be the one giving nepal the full amount not like others..

its not to take a ride .. the persons who are already taking the rides can contribute which is a great initiative ..

have already given 200 rs or so in my 20 rides

I completely get your point but what about those people who got to know about this great initiative by Uber and are willing to donate but don’t have Uber available in their city? I myself, keep traveling between different cities and the current city I am in right now doesn’t have Uber so I can’t simply donate through them? That is so unfair. If some kind hearted individual wanted to donate Rs.10 to the cause and has Uber in his city, he would still have to take Rs.50 ride unnecessarily to donate those 10 rupees.

Money gone for donation = Rs.10
Money made by Uber = Rs.50

Do you see who is making the profit in the name of support and donations?
