Hi there,
Recently I bought a projector for my home. The model is E Gate K8 Kandy. I have researched a lot and even at thought of buying branded ones from amazon.com, newegg, tigerdirect. But what I saw there is mainly the low resolution models within the price range upto 25000. This much I could have afford w/o warranty coverage. Now I checked the models available in India and suddenly the E GATE branded projectors came into my notice. These have 2 years warranty. I was skeptical to buy as I did not come across a decent review online. I spoke to them, saw 2/3 video songs in youtube (for other models) but a review was nowhere!
My projector is E Gate K8 Kandy.(Be careful! this is different from K8 3D, which doesn’t have android built in.)

My unit is a white box, a portable one, comes with a dc input. This projector have a control panel with 8 capacitive buttons on top. Those are back-lit ones. The fans do not make any noise.This is a short throw one so close to 100inch screen with a 2.5m distance. If you give a 10ft space, you will experience a theater effect. The android inbuilt is too good, my android phone also acts a remote with a remote server installed and both connected to same WiFi. So you can stream online. I have popcorn time installed. The XBMC is also great.
You can also connect your laptop, desktop with the vga/hdmi cable. This works very well. The lens can be adjusted manually to get a sharp focus. The AV input is also great. Three outputs from set top box merge to form a single AV jack to be plugged in the projector. with a tube light on, I could easily browse internet, review my excel sheets, time pass with Facebook in a giant screen. I love this. And if you turn off the lights and plug in a media with a resolution of 720p or 1080p, believe me, you will be out of the world as I do!! 
Amazing picture quality.
By the way, I use a white wall to project. If you are going to use a projector screen, the effect would be splendid.
It do have a 2 watt speaker in-built. But not that great quality. So if you are on a movie, there is a 3.5mm jack to hook up your own speakers. Performance-wise I haven’t found any flaw till now.
Now what needs to be taken care of by E Gate
The projector is a Chinese one marketed by E Gate(even if it is written that made by E Gate). The user manual is good, but the same Chinese manual. With errors and the Chinese model number! C’mon E Gate, these little things should be taken care of. I also noticed a spelling mistake in the OS. (In the 3D menu, when the image is back to 2D, it is displaying “Please tack back the 3D glasses”.
The build quality is not that great, but it is good. The most important thing I think that it is missing is the lens cover. It should be there.
For you guys, if you buy this projector:
From wherever you buy, please check each and every detail mentioned there. If you find any discrepancy, please call their customer care. they will help you. I had conversation with Monica. She is helpful. I do faced some issues while buying, but Monica assisted me a lot to get what I wanted. The thing I liked about E Gate is that they value their customers. You have too be a gentleman too. A good professional attitude towards customer satisfaction. But their let down is their marketing team. The little less I speak about it is more better. But regarding support and product, my thumbs up to them.
I would recommend everyone. With a selling price of INR 39990, the specs are much better than any of the brands available there in India.
Regarding DLP 3D, I could not comment, as I do not have DLP link 3D glasses with me. But in future if I get one, I will let you know my experience.

The last thing, I will not post any video in youtube, the video depends on the camera quality with which you shoot, but believe me the picture is one of the best I have seen given you watch a good resolution video!

Thanks for the elaborate information you have posted on forum. It’s really one of the excellent reviews I have found on internet. Like you or many of us do a lot of survey on web these days to study about the products we want to buy. I have also done much survey on web for buying the projector. As I was about to buy a one in this Diwali,which was Egate P513, which is LED-LCD. I saw your review about K8, as I was not sure to go for P513 or K8. As K8 uses the DLP technology , I heard that it gives the true to life colour reproducibility. Now just let me know have you received any demo from the company before buying; because it costs a lot and without demo its difficult to decide. You have written that you have not tried 3D. but do these company gives active glasses? Do write if you have any advice for me in this regard.

since it is a led one, you do not have to change the lamp. 20000 hrs life is the minimum

I was also thinking of buying the below 25k range of pjs. But after viewing all the same specs pjs online i decided to give it a chance. No demo from the company. where do you live? if you are in kolkata i can show you and if you are in UP you can contact for the demo. In the meantime I have tested the 3D, active shutter glasses is also sold by egate but they cost 1700 for a single piece. i got two rechargeable from ebay( seller: videology) for 990 each(used coupon to get more discount). The glasses are not that great it might give you a headache but 3D quality is good. For a 3d content, you will notice a fine 3D effect but if you convert from 2D the effect is not that you can boast of. But 2D to 3D conversion is also not good in LG and Samsung tvs that i saw. (This is really a technology let down) But from the projector’s point of view i can confirm it delivers what it promises. Built in android is very helpful for a lazy person like me ;p

He also denied demo in Mumbai. But he gave me tel.no. of person who bought in Mumbai. Lets see if he can show me the demo or atleast gives his word on K9 kandy. Anyways thanks again for the help.

also curious about one thing. My room is 11×11 fit long. on that kind of distance can I achieve more than 100 inch (diagonal) of display? Also planning to buy a 100 inch long pull down screen from Chandni Chawak Market area. What kind of projector screen you are using.

nice review… you bought it @40k ..my suggestion for projector under 40k is Dell M115HD WXGA (1280×800) ..I personally used it and it is as portable it could be, Measuring a mere 105.3mm wide x 104mm long x 36.5mm high weighting aprox 360gms , built in 1GB memory , Contrast Ratio of 10,000:1 and at 450 lumen, rated at life upto 30000 hrs ,LED brightness and performance is brilliant. Played Avatar FULL HD 3GB file with no problem at about 65 inches diagonal from 7 feet away and visual was stunning…. Played Titanic FULL HD 7GB file…

Though I want to know if you got this piece from online or from any stores. I still want to see a demo before buying one.
Also is the device still functioning at par, also is the brightness of about 3000 lumens as the company claims is the correct and useful for normal curtains view at home during day light?
I bought K9 Kandy projector(approx 37K) in March 2015 using it for 10 months. I am watching HD movies via USB and Videocon DTH HD without any issues till now. I feel like watching movies in theater. I am very very happy with this projector. I am recommending other to buy egate projector if you are looking for one. Now egate upgraded this projector to next level, ie egate K9 kandy PLUS which has some additional features like inbuilt battery, 2GB RAM,..
